Something you should take into consideration: the cause of type 2 diabetes is chronic dehydration. Salt is a vital necessity for proper body function and has almost as many uses as water. In the case of diabetes, it helps to lower blood sugar. This function becomes rather difficult when the medical profession advises people to avoid salt. Insulin needs to enter the bloodstream before it can be used to carry sugar into the cells. When you're dehydrated, the water content of the blood decreases, and the blood becomes thick which inhibits insulin from entering. This is part of what is called "insulin resistance". Also, you might be experiencing higher morning blood sugar readings - called the "Dawn Phenomenon". This happens because the body waits until you are inactive before doing its daily maintenance. Before it does this, the liver increases the amount of sugar in the bloodstream since it is needed for energy. When the brain senses the additional sugar, it gets concerned that there is a shortage of sugar and that not enough will be available for its own needs. Since the brain is the control center for the entire body, it puts its own needs first and commands the liver to produce even more sugar. After the nightly maintenance has been completed, the excess sugar that wasn't needed is detected in the bloodstream. It's interesting to note that the brain doesn't need insulin to process sugar. One thing that might help with the morning blood sugar is to eat about 12 oz of green beans before going to bed. Green beans have amino acids and tryptophan needed to carry you through the night.

You can simply google any or all of this, I did. Also if you have a lot of different medications you can google a description of the pill and find out what it is, unless its not a prescribed medication like a vitamin or herbal supplement.
