Assuming you just want to exchange your host country money to UK money, it's not important at all. Just use an ATM card in a machine. Use one associated with an established bank and you should get an honest exchange rate. Hopefully your ATM bank account does not not charge a fee for foreign exchange. Tip: using an ATM machine on a busy street can make you a target for pickpockets and thieves.
