  • You might want to add some specifics. For example, there's a lot of head scratching over the recent tariffs. Our nascent battery-powered auto industry depends on cobalt and rare-Earth metals. 60% of the world's cobalt comes from the Congo, but Trump has put a tariff on cobalt and rare-Earths from China. Are we trying to save Congo's cobalt jobs, or is it just punitive pressure on China?

Thank you Mushroom for bringing substance and not just criticism! I'm not informed in this area. But I would think it would have more to do with financial volume. The way you've presented it does seem biased. I'd like to learn more about this. Where did you get your info, CNN?

Biased, not really, but perhaps said with a tinge of disapproval. I was just trying to post an example of detail missing from Vittorio's very general, but clearly biased post. https://www.forbes.com/sites/judeclemente/2018/07/11/trade-war-with-china-exposes-u-s-mineral-import-problem/#75d5ca832104 While China does not actually mine much of these minerals, it does refine them and, in that, China controls up to 90% of the world market. So, it's punitive on China, tit-for-tat in the trade war, but will do nothing to promote American jobs, actually increasing costs for American companies producing battery powered cars, such as GM, Ford and Tesla.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I meant to say that the way you presented it make the trade laws seem biased and not equally applied, however I'm sure there is a lot about it I don't know. Thank you for the links!
  • no, i dont watch much tv these days

      Too busy scratching?
  • I see friends on Facebook and Twitter saying CNN is liberal-biased fake news that hates Trump and lies about him constantly. It ignores his achievements or gives Obama credit for them. Sad to say but many people are brainwashed by the media and can only mindlessly repeat its absurd lies.
  • Any entity whether CNN, fox, msnbc, Sinclair owned news are beholden to their donors, as are most politicians become dumb. Its what i call a sellout.
  • What's dumb is calling anyone who disagrees with you dumb! Especially when you didn't offer any facts to back up your claim! I don't watch CNN. I Google. Sometimes I read CNN articles. If ANY article seems biased I usually Google for facts, if they can be found. But mostly I'm uninformed other than what I hear on the radio. But that doesn't make me dumb. What's dumb is watching CNN when you know you don't like it and you're allowing them to piss you off when you have the power to turn it off!
  • no I did a long time ago.Its not news. The only news I watch is the Spanish station, otherwise I look around and verify. This should be tops news until arrests are made,, https://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/judicial-watch-new-hhs-documents-reveal-that-unaccompanied-alien-children-processed-during-obama-years-included-violent-criminals-drug-smugglers-and-human-traffickers/
  • Trump clearly doesn't know what he's doing, but I don't need CNN for that. I actually prefer to get my news from NPR or Reuters online.

He's a lot better than Obama and Hillary.
  • I don't waste time watching that dumb fake news. "They don't think;;;" period. They just lie about him 24/7. They should be prosecuted for gross libel and inciting civil war.
  • No, I have never watched it. I am from Japan and now in the USA. I do not watch much TV. Some American friends tell me that CNN is liberal fake news. I refuse to waste my time on it.
