  • Laws should be passed according to what I call "The Preamble Rule". The Preamble of the Constitution lists 6 prerequisites to follow to ensure that all of the citizens are represented in a fair and democratic manner: "establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to everyone." If a proposed law fails even one of these prerequisites, then it should be voted down. Any politician who fails to support each and every one of these prerequisites does not represent his constituents properly and should be held accountable.
