are you saying the homeless are not aware of other homeless?
  • There are no homeless people within 40 miles of here. When I go to town I see them once in awhile, 2/17/23
  • Yes, I do have first hand knowledge. For several years, I worked in an office directly across the street from a homeless shelter. I don't make judgments about the background of those people. I'm sure that their backgrounds are as varied as those of us on this site. There are a percentage whose situation will never improve appreciably but many will be able to get their lives together. Judging any group of people as being "the same" is always a mistake.
  • Yes, of course. Where I live, the winters are very cold. It often gets near forty below zero. Just this last winter, someone built a yurt out of trash. The community all pitched in together to get her a motel room for the winter, but she refused to leave her yurt, and the whole plan backfired when she ended up assaulting several police officers. 😕
  • the only homeless in my town are drug addicts rent here is about as cheap as can be found in the state , every so often I see a drug addict camping in town near the atm so it can try scab money or cigarettes off everyone that goes to the bank. short of locking them up and making them go cold turkey I don't know how to help a meth addict.
  • Yes. I am aware of a homeless girl in my area who I see every now and again. Her usual spot is outside the post office on the pathway. I feel sorry for her. A few times I gave her some loose change from my wallet. It seems the nice thing to do. I feel sorry for homeless people but unaware of their situation as to why they are homeless.
  • Minneapolis and Sioux City, greatly greatly greatly under-reported and never once ever stating the true numbers for it, not once. I checked. Most often, the homeless have to go south, for warmth, but some stubborn people fight cold and more, always. and more than a few times, those locations did a great deal for the homeless, but far more often than not, it is a miserable failure as quite a few homeless have legal records that are bad, often from just one instance on those peoples lives
