  • many to mention. But i realize that those who are poor or who are lacking for something. They're the most good at giving.
    • Mr PantsFellDown
This is true. A poor guy will give his whole net worth to another bum if the other bum is having a sadder day and it might help. (I'm not trying to be a wiseguy or disparage, honest. It's just: would a rich guy give all his money away to someone just because they were unhappy?
    • beaker95
Just on the off chance there are any rich guys on here who are unhappy, I would be pleased to take all that life-burdening money off your hands......no charge....
  • Macbeth; Act 3....
  • when my baby brother told me he'd share his new swing set with me if I'd come back home
    • beaker95
Were you 52 at the time ?
    • Linda Joy

    • beaker95
During the Vietnam War, then ?
    • Linda Joy
      No, a few years later
    • beaker95
What happened to the swing set ?
    • Linda Joy
I don't remember. We move to Sand Mountain after that for my senior year I don't know if the swingset went or not I don't remember.
    • beaker95
I can picture you today on your veranda, in your rocking chair. Just like on "The Waltons." Goodnight Mary-Ellen.
    • Linda Joy
My rocking chair is in my living room. I have a glider on my patio. I don't have a veranda
    • beaker95
Where will we sip our cocktails in the evening glow of sunset ?
    • Linda Joy
In the living room or on the patio
    • beaker95
With gospel music gently serenading us in the background ?
    • Linda Joy
I can arrange that. But if you'd prefer we can find another station, or I have a DVD player we can put a CD in if you have a favorite you'd like to bring. Do you reckon Roarings tired of our chitchat by now?
    • beaker95
You are so funny. Nobody here is real. It is all just one big computer-generated game, controlled by small Aliens on the planet K-Pax. Chit chat chit chat chit chat nano nano nano.
    • Linda Joy
I think I saw K-PAX. But you're not going to convince me that you are Roaring he's for real and he somebody else.
    • Linda Joy
Is nanoo nanoo from Mork & Mindy? Or is that nano as in really small technology?
    • Roaring
Chat away. Computers couldn't possibly make this stuff up. You guys are helping me to lighten up a bit. K-Pax was an interesting story. Saved by being inhabited by an extra terrestrial. Have you seen Gattica? (I enjoy a good Sci-fy movie now and then)
    • Linda Joy
K-PAX was so long ago I don't really remember it very well. But Gattaca I remember! That was an awesome movie and I forgot to put it on my list of 5 favorite sci fi movies too! I liked Firefly even better though. But that could have been because I saw all the episodes and got better sense of their characters.
    • Linda Joy
And it might not be wise to encourage the chit chat on your thread. Last Saturday when there were no new questions we spent 12 hours doing nothing but talking to each other on several different threads! Lol I don't mind so much when it's our thread, but I was concerned it might be a little rude taking over somebody else's question.
  • Well, nobody on earth today witnessed it but the kindest act ever written about was when God decided not to destroy mankind because we're all sinners and miss the mark. He sent Jesus to redeem our lives so that we can learn what God expects of us and have a chance for the life that the first parents lost. God did this out of love. Jesus gave his life out of love. Self-sacrificing love is the kindest act of all. (John 15:13)"No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his life in behalf of his friends."
    • Linda Joy
that was the one I thought of but I didn't put it because I didn't witness it.
    • evj2017
LOL, none of us have. I've seen the 'effects' of his love.
    • Roaring
I have never interpreted any destructive event attributable to God. If I have peace in my heart, if I die today or in 100 years of natural causes or a major destructive event, and I have peace in my heart, then I will die with peace in my heart. If I judge a destructive event as Gods doing to punish or not to punish then I have erred in My judgement. I also have erred in my idea of God. If I accept that some happenings(tragedies and blessings) will always be a mystery while we are here.
    • Linda Joy
God destroyed the earth with a flood, and Sodom and Gomorrah because of wickedness.
    • rooruu
But how can an act of LOVE be kind? Maybe HIS act of Kindness is that HE still desires to remain 'LOVE'. HE still desires to impart 'mercy' unto the worst of the worst just as HE would to the 'best of the best'. That is Kind to me.. I can't fully understand it, but it is 'kind'.. The fruit of The Spirit..
  • Don't know about kindest, but one of my friends got a donor kidney from some family who had lost their only son in an accident. He still visits them to this day and behaves as if he is their son. He knows they will never have another child and has vowed to keep them as if they were his own parents. The problem is that his own parents are pretty terrible people.
  • I have another one for you. I just was reminded of a time when my son was 2 or 3 and he sat on Santa's lap and ask him for a flower for his mom for Christmas
    • Roaring
That a beautiful gesture. What a beautiful heart! (plus 100)
    • Linda Joy
Yes, it touched my heart. But I'm not about the points.
    • Roaring
And you are counting your questions and answers yes?
    • Linda Joy
Oh Lord no! Answerbag does that for me. I'm. Just here to meet people, make friends and hopefully help someone in the process. Besides, my phone is the only entertainment I have and I can't go anywhere, so this is what I do. For now anyway.
