[Fire Help?] I'm afraid that it might be serious..

Just woke up & went downstairs, the door to the living room is open but the cellar door behind the kitchen is emitting a strong mist. It looks like the room has been engulfed in fog of some sort. I can't smell anything burning other than this horrible paint smell. I'm afraid, and if nobody helps me I'll just have to take me & the family out the house. I don't think it's safe.. I just got this weird feeling..
