  • I get those best answer notices too. All from questions that are 7 months old. Answers is having some glitches and this is just of many. Even though I still like using answers and helps pass the time when I'm bored.
  • No, not I. I'd heard too many bad things that made me lose interest before even checking it out for myself. Facebook is another one I want nothing to do with.

know whutcha mean! I am about fed up with Facebook. Mostly I am ashamed to be related to the people who post such grabbage.

I've NEVER had a FB account & I've managed to wake up EVERY day smiling!!!
  • I used to like Yahoo Answers but the general questions, without going to a specific category; it is FULL of hate speech. The hate is so prevalent and unchecked that it appears that Yahoo is encouraging the site to be a hate speech haven. The current "problem" is that ONLY general questions are available (categories are no longer available) which seems to advance the assumption that they are deliberately encouraging the hate. The current problems have been going on for about a week
  • I have an account there but I rarely go there.
  • Yes,,now that reporting is off its better. The multiple account report trolls are silent.
    • TBO
      It has closed forever.
  • I did a long time ago, but there was a lot of racist last time I went there, so I didn't return. I don't think Verizon will be very interested in it after the buyout.
  • yes and this site is not yet functional enough to make the switch permanent. still waiting for a proper notifications system.
    • Temperance Brennan
Agreed that it needs a notification system, and so does AB.
  • I used to and recently have returned to it to investigate it. The biggest issues I can report are a constant need to refresh to submit an answer or edit and the existence of spammers who copy and paste other user's answers with just slight wording changes or additions. One of my own has fallen victim since my return. I recall that my sole issue in my past there was when Yahoo Answers Canada, or more likely someone posing as them reported and had an answer of mine removed. Supposedly I'd something along the lines of supplied unverifiable information. There was something fishy about it for sure because I don't even use Yahoo Answers Canada, I'm in America! Overall, I don't find it objectionable but I'd like a proper notification system just as I'm still waiting for one (and paragraphs) here.
  • I haven't used Y!A in a few years. At one time I was practically addicted. It became too juvenile for me. I live alone, and don't have much of a social life, so participating of Q&A websites for me is kind of like "talking" to people. I really haven't found exactly what I'm looking for, but I still search on. Y!A, I felt, was being overtaken by teenagers. There were too many "Should I kiss my boyfriend" questions. I need something a little more substantial.
  • No, I rarely go there. I prefer quora.
  • im on it a lot
  • I've been using it for some years. It has changed in that time.
  • Too many racists and weirdos. Not anymore.πŸ˜–πŸ˜•πŸ˜†
  • Apparently not anymore!
  • Not any more
  • No longer. It's closed now, and some of its very bad trolls are already here.
  • Not any more. There's nothing going on there any more. I used to hang out there a lot from 2008 until early this month. It became a troll fest and a place for online bullies to hone their skills. After verizon bought it, it quickly began to fall apart and then they just decided to shut it down.
  • Its been closed for over two years.
  • It has closed down .
  • They stopped YA.
  • 3/15/2024, Yahoo Answers shut down on May 4, 2021. It was a site filled with deplorable users and improper moderation.
