  • The first and so far only athlete to play in a World Series and a Superbowl was Deion Sanders, who did this when he played in the 1996 Superbowl for the Dallas Cowboys. He has previously played with the Atlanta Braves in the 1992 World Series. For the record, Dallas beat Pittsburgh 27-17; the Braves lost the World Series 4-2 to the Bluejays however, despite Sanders himself batting .533 and stealing 5 bases.
