Once the 3rd day passed without carbs, it was pretty much a done deal. Easiest diet I ever did, really. For someone who LOVES pasta, rice, and bread (in ANY form!), it seemed daunting at first, but it was easy after the start-up.

I'll have fries with dinner a night or two a week and I eat more potatoes than any other veggie (granted now they are boiled a lot), and I still drink diet soda and alcohol. But all in all, the lifestyle here is waaaaaaaaaaaaay healthier than what I was living in the states. Obviously, everyone can't move to Europe to lose weight but maybe some of these tips will help you if you are in the process of losing weight. Main tips to remember are: walk more than ever, cut out boredom snacking, eat at home more, and try to eat whole foods instead of processed foods.

  • You can lose an incredible amount of weight quickly by riding a road bike; you are using your largest muscles and no shock to your body (like running) I have lost 5 lbs in a weekend of 30 miles a day.   • I would say around mid June of 2003, I started a diet of only fish & poultry, fruits & veggies, NO fat, NO sugar and drinking ONLY water. I also began using Hydroxycuts. For excercise, on Mon-Fri I unloading trucks of furniture for my job and two nights a week I would jog a 3.3 mile lake. About a month later I had moved into an apartment of my own, which helped, because I was no longer tempted by the Little Debbie's my mother would have in stock. At that point I had dropped from around 260lbs to 230lbs. In September, I had changed from a day shift job to a night shift. By then, I had discontinued the Hydroxycuts and was unable to continue my regimen. In spite of no excercise and no dietary supplements, drinking only water and beer, smoking a pack of cigarettes a week and occassionally marijuana. The pounds continued to melt away. I eventually dropped to my lowest of 190lbs. Maintaining a fluctuating balance around 200lbs only until losing my job in July of 2008, where depression would bring my weight back to 270lbs as of today. Wish me luck, as I jump back on this "Hydroxy" horse.
  • I've lost between 20 and 25 lbs in the past two months. Unfortunately, the only advice I have to give is the classic. Eat less calories, burn more calories. I do at least an hour of cardio 5x a week, plus strength training 3x a week. I also eat between 500 and 700 calories a day- i know people are going to say that thats unhealthy, but I've heard several dietitians say its ok if you do it smart. I eat a serving of *very* lean protein (tuna canned in water is my fav) and then lots and lots of raw fruits and veggies. Every once in a while I'll put a bit of olive oil on a salad because the body does need *some* fat. I started out at 160, i'm now hovering around 135.

  • I lost 28lbs in 3 months. I cut out fast food, chocolate andalcohol andmade sure I had my 5 a day. I also went to gym 6 times a week. When I reached my target weight I allowed myself to have more of the things I went without and I now only go to gymn 3 times a week. I've kept the weight off for a year now :)
