You respect and want to know more about other religions.
-
did they have any bacon? I like bacon.
-
did you have fun? do you feel warmer than normal? did you laugh whenever they mentioned Jesus?
-
Good for you.
-
You were at a wedding?
-
What type of thoughts? Generally it's only the more Orthodox forms of Judaism that have a problem with their members going into other religious buildings. I've been in Churches and Cathedrals before.
-
I'd feel comfortable saying that almost all churches are open to visitors and interested parities. I, personally, would love it if you came with me to church. I think you would like it, even if it would be strange to you. I know the people of my church would be delighted to meet you. As far as being Jewish goes, well we simply wouldn't care.
-
I suppose we can't all be perfect!
-
G-d is g-d. Much like the nice jewish girl before you (me) loves a bacon buttie, so it is more important what you say to g-d than where you say it. Me? I chat to him on the bus
-
Must have been interesting. Next, make sure to pop into a Shul sometime -a nice friendly one, where they explain what's going on and you don't feel like a stranger in your own home : )
-
same God different venue, did you enjoy it?
-
Interesting...I do hope you had a good time Lol
-
congrats...umm..thats all I can think of as a thought :)
-
Don't worry, I haven't gone to a church since 1997 and that was only for a friend's wedding. The last religious building I was in was a synagogue for my brother's wedding since he converted to Judaism. Both my nephews (Joseph & Samuel {twins}) are Jewish.
-
well, i'm kinda hungry.
-
Whatever floats your boat. Did you get any strange looks?
-
Great. How was it? I am Christian and have thought of going to a Synagogue, but there are none where I live.
-
Good for you!, the roof didnt cave in did it?
-
Just curiosity. What prompted you? What seemed similar and different to you? Did you feel welcomed? Was it more of a positive or negative experience? Was there anything you found offensive. Were you able to worship G_d as you know Him? Did you feel free to pray within your own heart? I am not Jewish myself, but knowing that you could have walked into my church makes me want to know how you might have felt in the experience.
-
only that we should all, myself included, keep the Sabbath(whatever day that may be) Holy , as God Commanded....It is HIS DAY.... I remember and long for the days when there was no work or business going on....we are so far from that Commandment..pass the point of no return...except for the ones who truly love the Lord.....
-
Didja get lost or something?! ;-)
-
Yeah - you got too much time on yer hands! ;-)
-
If it's alright with you,it's alright with me :)
-
There are many Jews attending churches every week. They are most welcome. Hope you liked the experience.

My first thought is "Ah, a Jew trolling Jews." From your later remarks, perhaps you heard the music (I happen to like the tune of some hymns), or smelled the pork (pork chops fried in butter smell delicious, eventhough they're not even remotely kosher), or maybe you're so far removed from Judaism that you blame Judaism, instead of whatever has created that distance...but you're seeking answers and instead of looking in Judaism, you've decided to look everywhere or anywhere else instead. (When I found out my ancestors were overwhelmingly Jewish, my first reaction was to, although I considered myself a [non-Trinitarian] Christian, ... adopt most of the tenets of Buddhism. Happily, that was only the beginning of my journey, not its ending.) Thoughts?
-
I think that is an excellant thing. I wish I could go to a Synagogue but there is only one in my vicinity and it is all the way across the city.
-
Welcome! I went to synagogue with a friend last Saturday. Not the first time. (smile)
-
You should have turned left instead of right and headed for the Mosque.
-
Good for you, WooHoo!!!!! Did you enjoy it?
-
Same God, isn't it? Good for you. Wish everyone was so open and curious. Notice the roof didn't fall in.......
-
It must have been what you wanted to do and I hope it was a pleasant experience. :-)
-
so, u are a Judaist? Jew's are technically from the tribe of Judah, as Christ was....I have no thoughts, I would have no trouble going in a Judaist place of worship....God lives in heaven , not churches or temples...HE hears and sees us no matter where..even in the belly of a great fish!!!!
-
I walk into churches all the time...I hate religion but I love art and beautiful things and some churches are just beautiful.
-
Were you there to collect the rent? Jus' kiddin' ;)
-
Congrats. As long as you don't kneel, it's all good. Nothing wrong with visiting a church.
-
I have to answer with a question....what were your thoughts?? Did you walk away with anything? I think it is cool that you did this, seems open minded.
-
Why not? As long as they let you and you don't disturb them, it should not be a problem. I am not sure you can keep your hat on...
-
If true you obviously know nothing about judaism
-
Nice. Which Jew are you? You're most welcome to hear the gospel.
