I was hired for my position in the company I am currently in and have remained in this position although I am talking to my boss about promotion which is looking good.I was hired because of previous experience and voluntary work outside of the company I now work for.

I was never hired i guess thats becuase its a family bussines
-
I worked my way up from a general laborer to where I am now.
-
It was a case of "its who you know not what you know"...my brother hired me.

I was hired. There is no figurative ladder where I work (well there is but it's only got two rungs on it - I'd rise higher if I sneezed). If I was being optimistic I'd say I started at the bottom but the top wasn't too far away. Once the expansion is over (and only God knows how long that's going to take) section management beckons, which will be far less interesting than what I'm doing now.

I slept my way into this job. Only kidding.
-
I climbed my way up the ladder. I have been with my company since I was a teenager.

I was hired very reluctantly by my boss. I am partially deaf and I am a PBX operator and they were afraid I wouldn't hear well enough to be efficient. I asked them to just get me a head set and they wouldn't have to worry! I am still here and loving it!
-
I did a little climbing.
-
Both... I climbed the ladder; However, the ladder I climbed gave me the experience to obtain the position I was recently hired in. So I earned every bit of it!!!
-
You might say I'm semi-retired and hired for the position.
