Yes, and seeing as most all of my comments trail off into the world of irrelevant off-topic chatter, the comment-turned answer generally makes me to look like a complete and total idiot.

Yes, it did happen to me. If this happens: 1) I copypaste the comment in the right comment thread. 2) either I find a good way to edit the text as an answer to my question, or I just edit the text to ";", to allow its being flagged as nonsense. 3) I write in a comment to that ";"-answer the text "Please flag as nonsense".
