  • First, try checking to see if any rotation whatsoever occurs with the disk. To do this, insert the disk so it lines up with the bottom of the label text facing you. Then, insert the disk and wait for 1-2 seconds. Eject the disk again and note the direction of the label text. If the disk is rotating 1/4 or 1/2 turn only and the TV is displaying "Reading Disc..." for a short while, then you have a laser related problem. When this occurs, the most common remedy is a quick cleaning with some rubbing alcohol. Be careful though, not to misalign the laser, else you will find yourself in a precarious laser alignment situation!!! If the disk doesn't rotate at all, then you may have a mechanical error with one of the motors, and you'll be looking at some replacement parts that will range somewhere around $50-$80 which makes a total system replacement start to look more valuable as a solution.
  • I have the same issue, but i can get it to work when i push down on certain areas on top of the disc tray when closed, i think its a sensor problem, does not sense that it has closed the disc tray. any solutions to that?
