  • Superb question, Jim. It's a very difficult calculation, considering that the population keeps increasing century by century. Assuming that "man" is around for one million years, I would say it's definitely more than 1%, perhaps closer to 5. If we consider the time say from 100,000 years ago, I would say the figure would probably cross even 20%. And from 10000 years ago, it would probably be 80%. These are only "reasonable" guesses, without any mathematical backup.
