I have never had it. My Dad loves it, though, from what I have been told. I have a friend that is a chef and she says that it is really good as long as it is made right. She says it should be moist and not like the brick that most ppl give.

I love fruit cake, but, I am from New Zealand so ours maybe different. My fathers second wife had relatives in America that used to send fruit cake to them at Christmas, that stuff was disgusting.

I like it, when it is made properly. Most people have only tasted the horrible store-bought kind or homemade by someone who was not careful to choose only the best, freshest ingredients.

Good, I was afraid it was only me. The nice things about it is that you only eat a small piece at a time and it's soaked in run (don't like the whiskey ones) and lasts a long time. We usually get one around Christmas and finish it up around spring. It is a gift that keeps on giving.

I totally love fruitcake. Why isn't there an exchange where fruitcake lovers can register and fruitcake haters can send their fruitcake gifts to those of us who can appreciate them?
