It is "Jesus wept." but in the NIV Job 3:2 (And Job spake, and said;) is translated as "He said;" making that the shortest verse in the (NIV) Bible. Just thought i'd point that out.

It's a toss up and depends on which version or translation you are reading. Many people say it's John 11:35 that says "Jesus wept." But in some Bibles Job 3:2 simply says "Job said" which has only two words but less letters. Another two word verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:17 which says to "Pray incessantly." or "Pray continually." And the longest is probably Esther 8:9 "Then the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month Sivan, on the twenty-third day of the month; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews, and to the satraps, and the governors and princes of the provinces which are from India to Ethiopia, one hundred twenty-seven provinces, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language, and to the Jews in their writing, and in their language."
