  • Jesus wept. John 11:35
  • Ah dang.... Yeah I was gonna use Jesus wept too but didnt have the scripture! :-(
  • It is "Jesus wept." but in the NIV Job 3:2 (And Job spake, and said;) is translated as "He said;" making that the shortest verse in the (NIV) Bible. Just thought i'd point that out.
  • "Jesus cried".
  • Jesus wept.
  • "Jesus Wept" is one of the shortest verses which is found in John 11:35 "He Said" is the other shortest verse in the bible which is found in Job 3:2 The longest verse has 78 words I think and can be found in Ester 8:9 just incase you were interested.
  • It's a toss up and depends on which version or translation you are reading. Many people say it's John 11:35 that says "Jesus wept." But in some Bibles Job 3:2 simply says "Job said" which has only two words but less letters. Another two word verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:17 which says to "Pray incessantly." or "Pray continually." And the longest is probably Esther 8:9 "Then the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month Sivan, on the twenty-third day of the month; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews, and to the satraps, and the governors and princes of the provinces which are from India to Ethiopia, one hundred twenty-seven provinces, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language, and to the Jews in their writing, and in their language."
  • actually in the NIV in ezra 1:2 it says Nebo 52 which is just as short as he said
  • Job 3:2 [New Century Version] "Saying:" Job 3:2 [New International Version] "He said:" 1Thessalonians 5:17 [NWT] "Pray incessantly" John 11:35 [King James Version] "Jesus wept."
  • John 17:35 says "Jesus wept."
  • no sure
  • (1 Thessalonians 5:17) 17 Pray constantly.
