there is no limit. landlord tennant issues in the state of Florida are civil in nature meaning that there is no criminality involved. If there is a contract that states that the landlord can only increase the rent by a certain percentage, and the landlord defaults, there still is nothing criminal. But since this is a civil matter, I would consult with an attorney to see if you have the right to file a civil suit. But to answer the direct question, a landlord can increase the rent as high as he/she wants.
