f(x)=(x+1)/(x-3) g(x)=x+3 f(g(x))=f(x+3) f(g(x))=((x+3)+1)/((x+3)-3) f(g(x))=(x+4)/x.
-
Substitute: f(g(x)) = (x + 3) + [1/(x+3)] - 3 Now, simplify.
-
f(g(x))=(x+3+1)/(x+3-3) =(x+4)/x

There is an ambiguity in your notation. I think that you mean: f(x)=(x+1)/(x-3) but I think that you have written: f(x)= x + (1/x) -3 Fortunatly, people have answered it both ways.
