  • "Radical" originally referred to "root," and meant going to the basics. Apparently you're using it to mean "far left," as others use it simply to mean "extreme." "Reactionary" used to mean "wanting to return to an earlier time," and is generally meaningless in any political discussion with which I am familiar, though apparently you use it to mean "far right." However there are true reactionaries: Some extreme greenies, some Luddites who'd like to destroy modern means of production. Interestingly the true reactionaries of today are usually leftists. And possibly true "radicals" are libertarians and anarchists (extreme libertarians, not the communalists and nihilists who misuse the term) because they seek the basic, the independence and sovereignty of individual humans.
