  • 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 1. The Bible awakens faith, the source of all obedience. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17) 2. The Bible frees from sin. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. (John 8:32) 3. The Bible frees from Satan. The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. (2 Timothy 2:24-26) 4. The Bible sanctifies. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. (John 17:17) 5. The Bible frees from corruption and empowers godliness. His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. (2 Peter 1:3-4) 6. The Bible serves love. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment. (Philippians 1:9) But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (1 Timothy 1:5) 7. The Bible saves. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you. (1 Timothy 4:16) Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God. (Acts 20:26) [They will] perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. (2 Thessalonians 2:10) 8. The Bible gives joy. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. (John 15:11) 9. The Bible reveals the Lord. And the Lord appeared again at Shiloh, for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of the Lord. (1 Samuel 3:21) 10. Therefore, the Bible is the foundation of my joyfull home and life and ministry and hope of eternity with God.

The person who gave me a -4 should say what they think of the Bible and not just act like a scared school girl and hit my points and run. Jesus is Lord and He reigns forever and ever Amen
  • Stephen Colbert says that Jesus pretty much made the Old testament obsolete and that publishers only print it to puff the book out a little.....
  • "ACCOMPLISHED"...in a sense "Jesus pretty much did make the OLD TESTAMENT OBSOLETE...as HE FULLFILLLED the PROPHECY of Gen. 3=woman's seed..:) the Beginning (Genesis) the End (with the REVEALING of REVELATION) = the Alpha and the Omega.. as Christ said , "It is ACCOMPLISHED/COMPLETE" the Bible's SOLE PURPOSE was to keep GOD HOLY and ALIVE till the SAVIOR was BROUGHT DOWN and SACRIFICED for HOPE for all man... the "seed plot" in Genesis to the THINGS THAT WILL COME.... best summation...DIVINE TRUTH....:)

  • My brother. What you are saying is interesting. In fact I would love to know more. So, when you tell me and the world that the authors of the bible and the ones who make Christianity popular, can you explain that? All the authors have been dead some 2,000 years or more. Also who are these people who are promoting Christ if not Christians. Can you give me names, studies and proof that some or any or all of the Bible is a hoax. I want to learn. For me it is the living Word of God but if you want to say these things can you back it up with real proof yourself?

  • Form a paradise lost to a paradise gained. Starting with Genesis; where the first human couple lost the privilege to live eternally in the garden of Eden, having children, taking care of the earth and as the population grew the boundaries of Eden would grow as stated in Genesis 1:28 "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth". KJV But then they lost this opportunity and were expelled from Eden as stated in Genesis 3:23-24 which says" Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life", KJV So, that was how paradise was lost, and as most Christians know is the reason mankind needed a savior, who of course is Jesus, because Gods own sense of justice as stated in the scriptures as an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth; a perfect human male (Jesus) was needed to buy back the perfect human male (Adam). This verified in 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 "For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive." KJV Because of this sacrifice paradise is promised with scriptures all throughout the Bible. Now then, if we go the the last book of the Bible Revelations 21: 1-4 states "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” KJV now if you look at the very next scripture it says "And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” KJV So for me this scripture gives me confidence that every promise about bringing mankind to his former glory and living on a paradise Earth without the problem's we are faced with today, as stated in verse 4:"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” will come true. If you would like more information on this or any other Bible topic please login to the free web site JW.org.

  • People fail to understand the Bible because they have only heard the lies about it, have never read it, and never studied it for what it truly says. I only recently learned how important it is to study the Bible in Hebrew and Greek. How important every word is when studied in Hebrew and Greek. No, you don't have to read Hebrew or Greek because there are scholars who do and have written books for us who do not. Two of my favorites are, Signs and Secrets of the Messiah and also Mysteries of the Messiah both by Rabbi Jason Sobel. There is so much more to the Bible than what you just read superficially. Those of you who refuse the promises of the Bible and say it is a fairy tale I really suggest you read the two books I mentioned above. Believe me the Bible is not a fairy tale. Both the New and Old Testaments are bound together, one cannot truly exist without the other. It is even more important to know the Lord Yahweh with what is going on in Israel today with Hamas.
  • In a nutshell... Old Testament: God loves his chosen people when they obey His laws, but hates everyone else. New Testament Gospels: Due to the fact that God's son was murdered by a violent mob, God now loves everyone! New Testament Epistles and Such: Eventually God actually only loves believers; He will eventually destroy the world and burn all of the disbelievers.
  • This question has been here awhile. Lots of names we never see any more. The OT is the history of the Hebrew people with the prophecies of the major and minor prophets, and some of their songs, poetry and proverbs. The NT is the life and times of Jesus as told thru the memoirs of the apostles, with instructions in the faith and guidance in Christian living, along with the vision of John. IMHO 11/23/23
