Yes! They are not unusual in the UK and are wonderful for children. We always played 'helicopters' with the seeds, because they spin as they fall - we'd spend hours picking them up off the playground and holding them high to fall all over again.

Yes I have. I live in Pennsylvania and there are some beautiful ones here. There are some huge ones down along a stream near my house.
