Ah, it varies. Sometimes we are delusioned, but the truth is, a broken heart is not really because of the person you don't have, it's more about the person you thought he or she was and that is the person you don't have. Overall, it makes you a stronger, wiser human.

It never heals completely. Deep inside heart, the pain will always be present of losing the loved one!

I had my heart broken when I was 17. It took me four years to get over her. It's been a long time since 21. I'm over her, but I've never gotten over the experience. I did, however, learn from it and became strong enough to make sure I wouldn't allow myself to fall into that again. Know that all that you feel comes from you. If you can control your thoughts, you can control your feelings. It's easier typed than done. Good luck.
