NOOOO way!! That's one of my peeves with people I'm friends with, people at the office, etc. My biggest peeve is the misuse of your and you're...!!
-
You forgot text speak: ur and der
-
Don't really have a lot of peeves, mostly when people are mean to one another on AB.
-
No, if I think about it I use them properly but I'm prone to using the wrong one from time to time due to typing so fast. I often proof-read before hitting submit, but occasionally not. I don't hold grammatical errors against anyone, but I have poked lighthearted fun at them for funny ones.
-
Yeah, happens all the time to me. I usually catch it before it's too late though.
-
Not at all. The ' is used when you mean to say they are or you are. "There" is like not here but there. and their is like "their house" But I was confused by the word "homophones".
-
No, I never had that problem. I know the proper use of each one of them: a)their, mine, his, yours, your. b)they're, you're, I'm he's, she's, we're. c)there, here, overthere(place).
-
on occasion
-
every once in a while
-
Ju, I NEVER make this mistake never because I take the trouble to re read before I hit the submit button.
-
I do it and don't care. As long as the person knows what I meant.
-
I try my best JuJubee, but i am dysleixic and some days can't remember how to spell my own name, i apologize to all in advance! ;0)
-
No. Never. My grammar isn't so bad :)
-
I am homophonobic and am afraid of words that go both ways. I just can not bring myself to type they are as they'......see I just cant do it. I am a straight typist and was born that way.
-
I try to use the correct words, but once in awhile I may be typing fast and end up with the wrong one, I hate it when that happens.
-
No to the question about homophones. However, when I'm typing too fast I will write "teh" for the, and "adn" for and.
-
I was just thinking about this today. The ones I have gotten confused about lately are there & their. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's been out of English class for a little while.
-
No not usually...Some words I mispell.
-
Given a viable context, I almost NEVER get confused by homophones, homophobes, homosexuals, or homoanythings. But seriously, folks, word-play is fun. Hmmm. Serious fun? Well, what's the matter with that? But if you want to see some confusing words, visit my web page: http://schoolfile.homestead.com/files/Words.html It can be reached from this page: http://schoolfile.homestead.com/Grammar.html or this one: http://schoolfile.homestead.com/RESOURCE.html but not this one: http://mwsresearch.homestead.com/research.html

I got confused about when they started calling 'em homophones instead of homonyms.
-
Confused? Know. But when typing on a role two fast eye right the wrong homonym awl the thyme.
