Yeah 16, 17, 18 and 19.. I do understand that thongs were created to eliminate the panty line, however videos, tv and men have made it such a "sex" thing.. My daughter can wear them when she understands respect for her body and if she understands that at the age of 15, then she'll only have to wait one more year to wear them.. (HE HE)..

Thongs are often seen as part of lingerie, hence the sexual connotation (they are meant to reveal, not conceal). Given that, I think girls 14+ can wear them, just not go showing them off. *postscript Thongs have been proven to transfer fecal matter to the vagina and cause infections, hence doctors are starting to discourage their use. probably not a good choice for daily undies.

depends on the purpose. if they are wearing a formal, fitting dress and don't want panty lines, which is understandable, then sure, since it is a special occasion. but if the purpose of wearing the thong is to ultimately show it off, then not really. i think they need to grow up a bit, be ready for a serious relationship, and have a bit more self esteem and confidence before they wear them regularly.

Nope. My oldest daughter can't even keep her regular underwear from riding up and being revealed, can't imagine the whole thong thing.

My mother didn't want me to wear thongs AT ALL. I started wearing them in middle school without her knowing. She always thought wearing thongs was gross and that people who wore them just showed them off. I've NEVER shown off my thong. I have NEVER worn the straps up above my pants. I've seen girls do it and I think it's disgusting. I wear thongs because they are comfortable to me. I wear them everyday. Now that I'm married I do buy sexier and more appealing ones, but I only show it off to my husband.

the thing about thongs is that they used to be this big tabboo thing that only street walkers would wear...now they are common place...the fear is that the next step is crotchless then pantyless just because it's what is the "in fashion". Everyone that supports children wearing thongs, would you want children going commando or wearing crotchless?
