I need more of an explanation as to what you mean, please.
-
I think it was formed as a Cult ( in the negative sense of the word) And they had to come to america to escape being critisized for it
-
Paul brought the word to Jews and Gentiles ect., but when the Romans began Killing all the Jews because Judaism was growing he seperated from them and formed Christianity.
-
Christianity was formed because of Christ. Hence the Christ part in Christianity.
-
true christianity was not formed it was created by faith in christ - he said to peter that threw his faith in christ he would build the church - i believe catholicism was formed out of fear and i dont considder a religeon that allows and encourages you to bow to statues and crosses - or pray to saints an actual form of christianity - its blasphemous ! but the true church was not formed through fear but faith !
-
Um, no. First it was formed, then the Romans and others began persecuting it.
-
Christainity was formed during a time of persecution

Fear of persecution towards the officials i assume. Jesus, John, Peter, Muhammad, Haile Selassie etc, in particular Jesus i believe were mere mortals, of whom just as we are supposed to be, had a life's task to teach of God with many words, in many miraculous ways, although far more efficient and blessed with abilities than the majority. Simply i believe there deep prophecies were born within them to for-tell to the world, basically to show us, not to worship them, not to worship anyone else, or anything, but that of God himself. People forget faith and life brings many battles that messengers of God are always required and i believe are always sent on earth, whether we accept to believe them or not. Jesus did not create christianity, he came to show us to worship God alone, it was King Constantine, who saw the disadvantages they were heading into, against the increasing number of people who believed in Christs words; he therefore some 70 years after christ, formed christianity to be able to build round a strategical system that included their beliefs to a degree. Saviour means someone who comes to save, of which we all need saving everyday from the temptation of sin, jesus did not destroy sin, he asks us to avoid sin. So many people over the thousands of years gone by, have altered and changed the contexts of scriptures they come across, that too much confusion is putting people who showed us to have faith, to be considered just as great or more greater than God himself. We neglectfully forget the past before Christ and the fact because the past before him and others was fearful, messengers are always needed and so be it by God on Earth, through his people he chooses of his task. From the first human inhabitants, we instantly had faith, became tempted into to the wrongs that should be avoidable, then faith all lost. So if there was faith before, does that not show Religions are a supremacies way of controlling beliefs(although good to a degree of socialising and unitedness, but partial beliefs amongst religions causes divided nations), but only God Judges, so we are really needless to having to be a particular religion, i.e. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc, for if faith is within us and we are obediant of Gods morals, this shows no matter where we are, who we are with, he knows all, and he see's all.

I won't say Christianity, because that covers so much, I'll say the following of Jesus' teaching as a way to worship God began during at time of persecution. The Jewish Head honchos were killing every body who followed Jesus, They started by killing Jesus himself. Saul who later became Paul was one of these Jews who hunted down followers of Jesus and killed them, later when He met Jesus then started teaching people about Jesus he was thrown in jail and hunted. Every one of the disciples ended up in prison, exiled or killed for teaching Jesus. One Roman emperor dipped followers in tar and burned them alive as entertainment for parties. So no people didn't come to follow Jesus because they were afraid of persecution. Some other Christian sects were formed as a way of persecution but that is different.

Nope. Christianity was formed from the desire to be more like Jesus. To be Christ like. The word Christian derived from those people who were Christ like. To be persecuted for God as a Christian is expected by Christians. That is why God demands forgivness. As a Christian I must have faith that through Jesus any weapon formed against me shall not prosper. Life happens but we draw closer to God who knows what he's doing when we get hurt. Vengeance is mine says the Lord!

No. I think it is an assemblage of different religions. Pagan, Jewish and Gnostic.

Out of fear of persecution? Are you kidding? I think was created so that it could persecute without fear

i think Christianity ,Believing in HIS SON, came about from just this...BELIEVED..HE (Jesus) was the fullfillment of the Savior in the woman's seed(Mary) of Genesis 3...Jesus overpowering Satan..Just as God had Planned...Jesus was bruised in the heel at Crucifixion, but Satan will be crushed in the head(defeated and destroyed) at the END....when Christianity was forming they were persecuted for Believing...none cared..and many have been persecuted for Christianity...and will continue to be..:)justme

I think christianity became more popular despite the fear of persecution.
-

no, just fear in general. fear of death, of the knowledge that it's just us. ("there's no justice, it's just us!" - AF)
