Over, definitely! It's feels unnatural to pull the TP off the bottom.
-
Over. I dont like reaching under the roll to grab the paper. Im the same way with paper towels.
-
Something strange about over. Just dosen't feel right. And when your in that position you want to feel right!!!!
-
Over. I hate when it's hung so it rolls "under". I have to change it if someone else does that.
-
Bottom placers are either dyslexic or the roll is placed behind and underneath the throne.
-
Never thought about it until I got married. My husband wants it over the roll. So just for grins, I sometimes do it under. HA! It is the little things that keep us sane!
-
OVER THE TOP. Martha Stewart agrees. (I think).
-
Over, makes it easier to find the end of the roll. Any other way is just laziness.
-
Over
-
Over. Gravity tends to make the paper go all over the floor when it's the other way. And I'd rather not use floor paper for obvious reasons.
-
I really couldn't care less, I think it's very anally retentive (how appropriate) to worry about something so trivial.
-
Over. No doubt about it. Will someone tell my wife that the people on answerbag agree with me? She likes the roll placed under. LOL
-
Over, My sister always makes a diamond shape of the end paper, it makes you feel uncomfortable messing it up
-
Over, definetely. Here is why. when our children were younger, i could have owned one half interest in scott bathroom tissue. used it like it was going out of style. Wife and i decided to run a 30-day test to see if hanging the toilet paper under made any difference in useage, compared to hanging it over. Folks, the tests are in. after fifteen days of over and fifteen days of under......the overs have it! for some reason, hanging the paper over is more conservative than under. Maybe, gravity plays a part, if the paper is hung under, rather than over.
-
Definitely over for me. It's easier to find the torn off part or even feel it in the dark. In my bathroom we actually use a toilet paper holder and just place the roll on the lid. But, even at that, it has to be placed a certain way so when it's picked up, the sheet end is facing up and over.
-
I always swore it had to be over until my kitten learned the joy of unrolling it. Now I may just have to suffer with under:-(
-
Standing on it's end on top of the toilet tank. The TP hanger-bar in my bathroom fell out about a year ago because of woodrot.
-
Over. My husband doesn't seem to notice the difference; whenever he puts out a new roll he puts it under. Ugh. Sometimes I ignore it, but most of the time it irritates me so much that I change it and hope he gets the hint.
-
Over. It just looks tidier and I HAVE to change it if it's under.
-
Has to be over I'm very anal about that. One more thing my OCD has to offer. My fiance hates it because I get on to him if it is under so now he just doesn't replace it he waits until I'm peeing and need's toilet paper lol!
-
Over
-
over.
-
Over
-
over way better then everyone is happy
-
Over. If it's under, I always unroll and unroll and then I look under, and it's all unraveled all over teh floor.
-
Over
-
Over. when it's under I change it if i can. even if i'm at someone's house.
-
Over and over and over.
-
over for some dumb reason I pay attention to that.
-
Over the top not under
-
its got to be over, that way when you grab for it, the paper is hanging in the open instead of against the wall.
-
I like to surprise myself.
-
over...
-
Over. I hate having to fight the roll for toilet paper.
-
Over, though I don't always follow my rule.
-
Over, so you keep the toilet wall clean.
-
Apparently the toilet paper should hag over...it is called the welcome positon in feng shui or something like that. When I was a kid and we had a toilet that was outside and being afraid of spiders and other creepy crawlies I insisted that the paper be under so it laid flat against the wall, my reasoning was that spiders could not hide behind the paper if it was flat against the wall. (being an only child I got a few things my way and a rather nasty bout of constipation caused the toilet paper to lie flat against the wall for a number of years...)
-
I have zero tolerance for any TP that goes under. It must go over the top because that is the only sensible way to be.
-
Over, and we both do it. If I EVER see one going against the wall, and I can fix it to be the "right" way, I will.
-
Over
-
well i perfer it over, but if i did it wrong the first time, i wont go through all the trouble of doing it agian.
-
Uh I wasn't aware there was a difference.
-
Over.
-
I was just thinking of asking this question before I left for work! It's a good one. DEFINATELY over. One time my mother-inlaw put a new roll on and did it her way- which is under- and I was actually upset for a day. I didn't make it known but for some reason it really pissed me off. Maybe I was hormonal or something I don't know.
-
Over...I'm not sure why. It looks tidier.
-
many ladies will tell you under, the correct answer is not to bow to the oppresion of the roll, the tp sits on the sink next to the toilet in my house, and no place else, more functional for the stealth pooper
-
Backsplash - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
-
i like it to go over so you just have to push against the whole roll to tear it off and you can have a straiter tear
-
Absolutely Over! I even convinced my daughter that she had hers on the wrong way, now she absolutely has to have it Over. A marriage counselor I know told me she knew a couple who got divorced because they could not agree on which way to put the toilet paper on the roll. I wouldn't go that far, but it's a good thing my wife doesn't care.
-
Over. There's no sense having to find the stupid thing when you put it under. It's nonsense. I'll change it if I'm in someone else's house... :P
-
Whichever way it lands in there, I wont change it if I put it in backwards.
-
Definitely over, I will take it out and put it the proper way even in other peoples homes. I dont know why, I guess I have OCD.
-
I'm going to be part of the minority that says under. It drives me crazy when its over, it just doesn't look right to me!
-
I've always been an over-the-top sort of guy...
-
in.
-
Over please
-
Neither. It sits on the top of the toilet Tank :D
-
I put my on roll-over and I have a habit if I go into a public bathroom and see it is under I will change it to roll-over.
-
Over. I guess I'm not totally OCD because I've successfully fought the urge to realign the rolls in friends' bathrooms for many years now. And if you need help with this too: join my support group. ;)
-
Roll-over - that way, you're not wiping your hand against the roll every time you grab some.
-
Over then theres less chance someones hands have been all over it whilt theyre dirty! theres enough bacteria out there already hehehe
-
Over, I don't want the paper rolling out against the wall and who knows what. I want to be able to find it hanging nicely right there where you can reach it better. And I want it placed the same way everywhere so I don't feel like an idiot not being able to find the darn start of the roll. Oh, and if you replace the empty with a new roll, also be kind and 'start' the roll going free. Don't just place it on there and then you can't find the end from your sitting position.
-
OVER! it bothers me when people put it the other way.....you can't find the end!
-
over
-
over!
-
Over!
-
Under, under, under! Only requires one hand to grab the end, brace the roll and tear. Otherwise you end up with way more paper than you need and you have to maneuver another hand to accomplish the detaching. Again, I say...Under!
-
Over
-
Under
-
Over. I think it is easier.
-
Top of the roll, with 2 young children I have found less ends up in a heap on the floor and has to be re-rolled.
-
I was going to say that I like it from behind.......but thats a dangerous answer. I will say that I like the ends folded like they do in the fancy hotels.
-
I like it when its off the top. Im not sure why that is.. but I just prefer it that way.
-
Always coming from behind. When you tear it off without putting your hand on the roll, it keeps rolling when it comes from the top/front, but not when it comes from the bottom/behind. Plus, it looks neater.
-
Top! You can see it better coming off so have more control over the number of squares. =)
-
Whichever way I put it on there without looking. I am truly lazy.
-
Top! and I've been known to switch it around if someone puts it on "wrong"
-
Top, it has to be over the top. Anything else is INSANE!!!!!
-
off the top. when it comes off the back i always think it's rubbing against the wall.
-
Off the top of the roll for me...not sure why other than that's how mom always did it. LOL
-
Honestly, I don't care as long as the empty roll has been replaced by the person who used the last of it, I'm happy. When I replace the roll, then the paper comes off the top.
-
Under.
-
Over just like I do with the toilet paper.
-
the t.p thats wiping my ass is the one i perfer
-
over for both
-
I prefer over.
-
Over please
-
Over.
-
Over...and I will flip the roll around if it is on the "wrong" way...even at soemone elses house! It just bugs me!
-
Over, I have been known to change the roll of tp if it is under to over in public bathrooms.
-
over
-
Under
-
Over
-
Over the top. The right way! ;) I use white, but if you see the printed kind,(do they still make that?) it would be backwards hanging there. :)
-
I've always just put it in I've never really paid attention.
-
the torn paper should be facing down.
-
Sideways (to the right as you look at it). I don't have a holder, so I sit the roll up on end on the back of the sink.
-
I tend to just automatically put it down
-
Down! If it's facing up, it might touch the wall more easily. In case anyone really cares: Emily Post, Miss Manners, Martha Stewart and other etiquette mavens say that "down" is the correct way.
-
Over. There IS NO other way :)
