For me it does. I'm going into a field where there is an extremely high demand for people with degrees
-
Not at all. However, creating a reputation as an employee that adds value is priceless. People will always have a job for you.
-
no. There are several people in this area that have degrees that can't find jobs. Unless you have a degree in the health field or have a degree in which you can run your own business/practice, it's no guarantee. The college here graduates at least 400 elem. ed students every year and the schools hire maybe 20 so job security..hardly.
-
During this economic times, not at all. It's sad really, because a degree used to mean job security...now everyone is at risk of losing their job. :(
-
sadly... i've been making more steady money now than i was in grad school ...and i mow lawns <.<
-
I believe that having a college education not only prepares you for the world it gives you a sense of pride knowing that you have accomplished something and have a piece of paper to prove it
-
nope. Many people go to college, get a degree in something that took them years to accomplish, and find out there are no jobs in that field. And sometimes once you get in someplace, it is very competitive because of everyone else who wants your spot! Going to school just gives you better opportunities, and a larger scale of jobs that you are qualified for.
-
Depends on what their degree is in. Anthropology, no. Computer anything, yes.
-
Not at all! An education does normally lead to a better job, but does not ever lead to job security.
-
No...although where you live and the type of degree can make a big difference in job security.....no job is totally secure :))
-
No, it may however make it easier to get another job.
-
It would depend on how specialized the degree was. In most cases, degrees are a dime a dozen.
-
Not really. It has more to do with being wise and getting yourself into a safe industry and safe position within that industry.
-
It doesn't absolutely guarantee it, but it sure as hell helps.
-
No. Only incompetent co-workers can do that.
-
Absolutely not. Maybe it used to, but it doesn't anymore. College degrees are the new high school diplomas.
-
Absolutely not. You're way better off with it than without it, but it doesn't do much in the way of job security by itself. Especially a liberal arts degree. "Would you like fries with that?"
-
No, it does not. But it does mean hopefully one is a more formally educated person.
