Yes, the Bible

-
Jenny The Great ⭐Which version did you throw away?
-
-
Never.
-
yes me 2, the bible and the secret
-
I keep all my books because I collect them. I prefer to buy all my books rather than going to a library or borrowing them so I won't throw away a book that I used my hard earned money to buy.
-
Nope but I might give them away for someone to read. I like to share my love for books.
-
No way, every book I own is worth keeping even the ones I didn't like. Plus my book shelf would look too empty and I don't want that.
-
Yes, when they get ruined, mouse eaten, or if they get so old and get that musty smell, it give me asthma so I can't keep them around.
-
Only when I've read them so many times they're falling apart. I even have a few water damaged ones I don't have the heart to throw away.
-
I pass them on.
-
I think I have before, but I usually put them in a donation box if I don't want one anymore.
-
No, come to think of it I haven't.
-
Yes i have when i dropped it in the bath and all the printing ran out and it was just paper O.o
-
I've thrown away a bible I purchased a few years ago.
-
Yes...paperback romance novels. I read them in the hot tub and then throw them away.
-
Not that I can remember. If I don't like the book, I just donate it to the library.
-
Three or four were such garbage I've not only thrown them away, I've given them to a fish peddler to wrap his merchandise in.
-
Only if they are beyond use, soaked with water or shredded. Otherwise I take them to the Goodwill to be sold to benefit others. Or I give them to close friends :)
-
sure ive thrown a few books away they were old textbooks i already aced the classes so,
-
No..I have given them away or placed them somewhere where others could simply take them. I am constitutionally unable to throw books away..it's against my religion! :)
-
yes I have, whn they have no further value either falling apart or damaged beyond repair etc.
-
Yes. All joking aside, I threw my Bible away when I realised I didn't believe.
-
My mum always told me ever since i was young to never throw books away, although i dont completley agree with that i always have a hard time throwing books away. But sometimes my shelves get too full and takes up too much dust so unless they are very old and in small peices i give/donate them to a near by library
-
Just give them away to someone who would appreciate it. I gave away all the fiction and other such non fiction I ever had. Now I read only spiritual books!
-
Tossing books is SACRILEGIOUS. SHAME on you!
-
If I really like a book I will keep it with my favourites because I love the look and feel of books. Ones I don't want, I give away or put in a charity shop. It's so sad to see binned books. Even the very worst can be recycled!
-
No I havent - I am a bookworm and keep every one of them.
-
Perish the thought! :) No, I am an avid reader and if I read a book that I didn't like I take it to the used bookstore and trade it in for something worth keeping.
-
I'm a pack-rat. I keep things, even when I don't need them. Somehow books are sacred to me and I cannot toss them away even if I don't intend to read them anymore. I will either give it away or try to sell it to a used book store. When a friend of mine was throwing out some of his college books, I picked them out of the trash and told him I would like to keep them. They are still in boxes somewhere in my closet. Anyone for "Language Testing"?
-
The only books I have ever thrown away were damaged beyond repair which doesn't happen often because I respect books. Otherwise I donate them to the public library. It's an excellent way to *share* your books with many people.
-
I do eventually. I read a lot, but only ever read a book once. I usually pass them on to my other half, my daughters & my parents (if suitable!) and sometimes colleagues. Afterwards they get binned if in poor condition or given to a local charity shop if still OK.
-
I had to throw away some old college textbooks when I moved out of a condo and into my future wife's home.
-
Yes
-
I finally ditched some old electronic manuals that were really out of date and were really heavy
-
I already answered, but I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS for having the question of the day!!!
-
No way! I could NEVER bring myself to throw a book away!
-
Absolutely NOT! I cherish all of my books, and especially love the idea that they will all be here and available to my son as he grows and becomes curious about things. (Most of my books are nonfiction, research, or reference books).
-
No. I can't say that i have. However, I have had the judge throw the book at me.
-
None that I can remember.
-
nope I donate them, also I don't loan books I give them
-
my mom made me throw a box of books away because she said that those books weren't educational. i regret letting her. i should have put up a fight or something. not that i let her happily.
-
Yup I have... no different than throwing away a magazine.
-
Yes, many of them after the fire at my Gram's house.
-
They're so full of useful knowledge, I might give one away so someone else can learn from them, but I'd never waste it like that.
-
Yes, old and moldy ones that couldn't be restored. Also so paperbacks before I found a recycle book store.
-
No, I can't bring myself to; as a result, I have boxes filled with books in the basement, in my closets and six book shelves - I'm gonna need a bigger house!
-
Only if it was smelly or the pages were stuck together or if silverfish were scuttling away when I opened it. I think there was one instance where the content was not worth the paper and ink, so out it went.
-
Never. I can't imagine it.
-
Very rarely. I have given some away. I have thrown away some old books of annual reports I guess and phone books - but even that hurts :)
-
never ever NEVER would i throw away a book
-
Of course I have. Books like G.W. Bush: Economic Miracles of our Time Roseanne Barr: A Study in Sensitivity Macdonald's Publications: Eating for Health and Fitness
-
I donate all my old/unwanted books to the library - but they don't take all books. They refuse text books, school books and really tattered ones. So, if none of my friends want them, yes, I throw them out.
-
No, of course not. I'm a collector of books and hate to see one thrown away. Unless of course if its eaten by termites or covered in mud or burnt too much or something, that i will allow!
-
No, if I ever want to get rid of one (unlikely, even if I don't read them), I sell them.
-
Yes, a few. I'll now rush to say only those that were unreadable, unusable ... ie falling apart. There have been LOTS of books, on the other hand, that I've said goodbye to. But that means: -- given to a friend -- donated to women's shelter -- donated to public library -- donated to Senior Center -- donated to Goodwill or Salvation Army So a piddling few died and got thrown out. Lots have been given away or donated. And gazillions have arrived in my life and are still here! :)
-
yes cause the "poor" one wasn't in a too fine condition
-
Never. I've kept most of my books, even ones that I didn't like, or ones that were very badly damaged. I forgot one in the rain once, and went to get it back later...it was ruined, but I couldn't bear to throw it out. I've given some away, sold a few, but I've never willingly abandoned any books.
-
Only ARCs because they can not be given away or sold. Soon I'm going to begin selling some of my 'overstock', shall we say, on Amazon.
-
:0 *gasp* No way!
-
I have thrown away several books away because they got eaten, wet, or the wrong type of material. I do tend to throw away Christian books because they are undesirable.
-
No, I pass them along to friends or family, or bring them to the book swap.
-
I usually pass them on and get passed to more often. I had to throw one away, "Where the Sidewalk End" boy i love that book. after i threw it away I bought another copy that fell apart also but kept it.
-
yeah, it's called spring cleaning!
-
Hell no! I love books way too much, I have a couple that I got signed by the author and could never think of throwing them away!
-
No I usually donate them to the library
-
Never. I think that is taboo. I would give away a book to someone else, but I think it is immoral to destroy a book. (Of course, sometimes it is debatable if something looking like a book would qualify as one. It depends on the quality of is content.)
-
One. I forgot the name and author though. It was about a male detective who was aslo a werewolf. unlike most of his fictional brothers; he didn't need the full moon to turn. All you had to do was make him extremely angry and he would turn. Anyway; he used his ablilites to track down a perverted psycho killer who prayed, only, on hookers. I threw the book away becuse, about half way through, It turned into, from a christian perspective, the written version of porn. It was a really good read up till it looked back, in full detail, on all the sex the killer had before killing each victom.
-
Nope AND i will never do that , Books r like god and i respect them a lot :)
-
Never... and probably never will. On rare cases that I don't want a book anymore, I give them to friends.
-
Once or twice, but only if the binding has broken beyond repair and book has split into two "volumes". Otherwise, I will tape up the book.
-
No, my place is overrun with books. I go through them every once in a while and donate those I'm ready to let go of.
-
I threw away a bible once.
-
Good Goddess, no! :) Given away or sold, but never thrown away.
-
Only if it was damaged beyond repair! I keep all my books forever!
-
Never. I've given them away and donated them but I couldn't bring myself to bin one. It just feels immoral somehow.
-
No, but I've had the book thrown at me.
-
I try not to...I give them to the library. But I have tossed garbage books away, you know, drivel?
-
no because i take care of them, lol
-
well of course
-
NO! I would never do something that horrid to a book. I keep my books looking so perfect, I never have to throw them away. If I am ever truly done with a book, I would give it away to somebody else that takes care of their books (not going to happen).
-
Yes. The World According to Garp by John Irving. So freaking awful. Right in the trash, right out of the bookstore, after reading it for about ten minutes.
-
Not once, I always either give them to friends, relatives, or a library.
-
i throw my harry potter book away for no reason. i was fast asleep after reading the first page.
-
No...N I can never do that....i hate reading but i never disrespect book.
-
Never. Why throw it away if you ca give it to a friend or to a used book store. Or just re-read it and make your own book collection?
-
I hate throwing books away because books are knowledge and you could pass this knowledge onto someone else annmac
-
I Rip phone books in half . YEEEEAAAAHHHHHHH BUDDDDDDDYYYY
-
Yes. There are worthwhile books and others that aren't. I've thrown away many worthless books. You have to be selective. There is an extreme quantity of published books, but life is short and time is valuable, so you've got to look for quality to get the best deal.
-
yes
-
Once! It fell in the bath and was unsaveable. Otherwise, no. I keep most of them, or I will sell them. I don't believe in throwing books away. Silly, really. I just put a high value on books.
-
YES, a book on boomerangs, but it came right back!
-
Yeah, quite recently acctually, the first chapter fell out so i threw it away, was a good book aswel..
-
yes it got all wet when i was reading in the pool and got dunked unexpected but was so much fun i did not mind. +5
-
It's not Fahrenheit 451 yet... is it? ;)
-
Yes..because I don't like the story.
-
I found a box of moldy books in the cellar which I threw out. Who would want them?
-
No, I sell those books that I don't need them anymore.
-
No. I collect my books. I have them neatly organized in my bookshelves.
-
no, i'll usually give it away if i dont want it
-
I only have 5 books so I will keep them.
