Never...first I don't use yo....and what I do is try to get his/her attention by a polite signal when they are looking in my area...if all else fails I get up and talk quietly to the wait person who is serving me....

My man Ec-nal ha!

No. I have manners. *Ahhh, I thought it said 'would you?'. Anyway. An idiot. There we go :)

An ethnic stereotype. Or an American.

Jesus.

Maybe I would at Lambert's Cafe (Home of the tho'wed rolls)- http://www.throwedrolls.com/ Or at Ed Debevic's in Chicago where part of the schtick is that the waitresses are rude to you. There motto is "EAT & GET OUT"
-
Not anyone i know, we have manners!! LOL
-
I would... only if it was the right atmosphere and right restaurant... It might work in a Burger joint with a waitress named Flo... But I would use greater tact in a classy restaurant, something to the effect of "Might we have some more bread?" while handing back an imaginary basket... claiming it was "too cold".... Make sure that the guy pretends to take the imaginary bread... when he grabs it say "Ohh you dropped it... that's ok... just get some warm bread will you?" It is a good way to privately get the point across to your waiter/waitress without making a public scene... explaining ahead of time why the tip may possibly be no greater than 15%

does anyone say 'yo' anymore?
-
Not me!!! Never! I would wait until she came by with refills or whatever and ask her if bread came with the meal as a gentle reminder.
-
Not me. Besides the fact that she deserves respect, I want clean food.
-
Wow, what kind of classless lout did you see in a fine establishment in Connecticut? I would not shout across a dining room nor would I infer that anything was "forgotten". When the server comes to your table, you kindly request the bread and butter.

Some one who is not in control of himself or a very uneducated person there is no need to be rude to a waitress. Best regards.
