And, I am sorry for the loss of those who were very close to him, especially his wife. Thoughts and prayers to all!

  • I'm still in shock but just had to share a few words about Nelson. I can't begin to say what he meant to me, his friendship, his kindness, his humor, our common love of animals and food. There is such a huge hole in me right now I don't know how to express it. He will be so so missed!!! I wish it was a bad dream but I know it's not. I will miss him more than words can say or tears can show. I wish his family peace of heart.

  • I never knew him unfortunately. I've heard a lot about him and his witty responses. I'm sorry I'll never meet him.
  • I met Nelson once when he asked for encouragement when he was going to take some time off. I think he had asked for hugs so I sent him some hugs that I really meant. I read about Nelson in the middle of the night at work and I cried.

  • I always enjoyed connecting with Nelson' he will be deeply missed. I will remember how he would turn his avatar upside down,so funny. By Nelson - keep the Angels laughing.
  • A funny, witty guy. Most of all a true gentleman. We could all take a page from his book yo...
  • http://www.paulkitwin.com/pics-of-paul-kitwin/ Several months back I learned that Paul (Nelson) had cut off his long hair to donate it to a children's charity that make wigs for young cancer patients. I thought this was the nicest thing in the world since he had his long hair for 20 years. I asked him to send me a photo with short hair. I never did get one from him. Sadly, I now have access to plenty of photographs of him at his memorial page that his widow Suzanne put up. :-(
  • Sadly, I did not have the chance to know Nelson but I can tell he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Nelson.
  • Wow..I didn't know. So sorry to hear, he was a very nice person.
  • r.i.p Nelson never had the chance to meet him but i read a few of his old posts he seemed like a real sweetheart...question though? im not meaning to offend i just find it so touching that he had such a impact. how did u guys know that he passed?
  • Nelson was the very first person I interacted with here on AB, and I will never forget his kindness and humor. I wish his family peace.
  • I will miss Nelson very much. I remember he once told me to "break out in song in public", the Tom Jones song "What's New Pussycat?" "It's very liberating when you're feeling a bit down," he told me. I remember telling my friend that that would be kind of "freaky" and "alienating", but Nelson pressed on, "Do it!" "Do it!" he told me, laughing out loud. Another time he told me that it's nice to wear comfortable, casual clothes to work, like "Hawaiian shirts." I laughed so hard but he meant every word he said! I never forgot those little exchanges between us, and I will always keep that memory in my heart, as I feel I have lost not only a good friend, but a strong support system as well. I am very sad tonight. :(
  • I don't know what to say, I just ran across this and I had no idea. What an terrible loss to so many. I will always remember Nelson's wit and charm and gentle humor. Godspeed Nelson.
  • Nelson was a great ABer. I want to remember his answers to the ... fun questions. He was hilarious. We weren't that close, but he was always respectful, and appreciative of others' answers and humor, that I saw. He will be sorely missed. :-(
  • i do believe that your not the only one to whom this is sadding news to. to a great man and well loved husband , nelson . we will miss you.

  • http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/848204 another great one!
  • OK, posting this again. Nelson (Paul) was my husband, my heart, and my soul. I loved him more than anything in the universe. If someone has a problem with that, downrate me. I'm sorry I didn't jump onto AnswerBag and post when this happened, but as you might imagine, I had a couple of things on my mind at the time. I really appreciate seeing how many people he touched - even though he had never met them in person. He would like that.
  • This one sums up how great of person he really was. http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/867915
  • I would have to say there were many, but this one is my favorite: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/867915
  • I am reading allot of great things about Paul... Thank you!! But the best thing about NELSON, is he is the best brother I could ever ask for... He was a role model like the best of them... I wanted nothing more then to be like him when I grew up, and even as an adult I still want to be like him... If I ever needed a honest answer he would tell me... I love you Paul... Please also share your thoughts with his family on www.PaulKitwin.com
  • I will always remember his gentle spirit.
  • I didn't know Nelson outside of AB. So I guess the best I can say of him is I respected his answers and questions for their quality and content. I wish his spirit rest and be at peace. The tough part is now complete. AB is a little diminished with your absence.
  • I never got to know Nelson, I haven't been on AB that long. Seems to me he must have been a very well liked person to have had so many care for him. As his friends I would think the greatest gift we could give in his memory would be to do the one thing he can no longer do, and that of course would be to watch over the person who lost the most, his wife.
  • I am sorry for the loss of your friend. He seems to have made a huge impact here on AB. I did not know him as I joined after but have wondered from day 1 what the jetpacking for nelson meant. Now I know and am sure he has made a difference in many lives.
  • Well Nelson, it's been over a year since we lost you. I still miss you and think of you. I still smile when I remember your sense of humor.:):)Thanks Nelson!
