  • First of all, 'hijab' is a religious concept, not any manifestation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hijab As for the question itself, some women just don't care and wear a regular swimsuit for the sake of convenience. There are also hijab-friendly swimsuits, as you can see in other answers, and other Muslim women just stay out of the water - I'm not much of a swimmer myself.
  • Just because they are isolated away from men does not mean they can wear a bathing suit like a bikini. Another woman cannot see another woman's mid drift of belly button, or thighs. Muslim women are only allowed to show everything to their husband. Other women, non marriageable relatives, fathers, children etc... are only allowed to see the woman without a scarf and her face, hair ,neck ,forearm,feet, & lower shin. All else is reserved for the husband.
