Probabaly the country will go into eben worse economic times. Terrorism will increase, business's will fail (many already planning to leave), racism will increase, unemployment up, taxes up, violence up. I can't think of to many good things.

Then things really start to go shitcan....... Ok reality check. What will REALLY happen when Obama is elected. You will wake up - let the cat in - make coffee - take a shower - get dressed - find your keys - and go to work. Nothing is going to happen quickly - remember it's November - and it's another 2 months untill Obama is sworn in as president. Everyone who wants will get a good paying job and/or education, low cost universal healthcare, a true national retirement plan, peace and the respect of other countries and a coherent energy policy. And on the second day?

Here's the problem: Bush has created such a large debt that there will be little money except to pay off the debt. Maybe Obama will do some successful work in reestablishing our reputation throughout the world. But, as far as important issues, like Universal Health Care, education,getting us out of the mortgage crisis, the infrastructure of the United States, restructuring Social Security and Medicare--where will the money come from? I doubt that there will be much of change--unfortunately. The Republicans have set up the next administration --whether McCain or Obama-- to fail.

Here are two observations. 1. We've had a Republican in the White House for 8 years and Republicans running Congress for 6 of the 8 years. We've been spending $12.5 billion a month to fight "enemy insurgents" in Iraq, for reasons that keep changing. If you remember, George told us we had to invade Iraq in order to "liberate" the Iraqis from Saddam Hussein. They've been "liberated" for several years now and we're still there. Obama is much too smart to make a stupid series of mistakes like that. 2. Our economy is in ruins. The Republicans want $700 billion from us taxpayers to preserve the lifestyles of the CEOs who mismanaged their corporations. Somehow, one tax cut after another did not increase our nation's wealth. Spending $12.5 billion a month in Iraq has also failed to increase our wealth. There is no way to blame this on Democrats b/c the little fart from Texas has been in charge for 8 years. Obama is much too smart to make stupid mistakes like this. It takes a Republican like George "Weasel" Bush.

Stripping the FICA tax cap off every worker making more then $97,500 will increase MY taxes. I won't get the Bush tax cut either if Obama allows it to expire, which he said he would do. If his plan goes through, that is less money in my pocket. So, my family would end up paying higher taxes. This is a sure thing. He also supports bans on the manufacture, sale & possession of handguns and all forms of semi-automatic weapons. (which he stated while running for the Senate-BTW-my state) His own city of Chicago has a handgun ban and even if a law abiding citizen tried to defend himself against an intruder in his home by shooting them, he would face jail time. This has already happened. (even though the ban is unconstitutional) When John Lott Jr., a senior research scientist at the Univ. of Maryland, met Mr. Obama in the 1990's, Obama told him "I don't believe people should be able to own guns". He backed up this belief by sitting on the Board of Directors of the Joyce Foundation which funded "Handgun Free America". The NRA believes he is the "most dangerous anti-gun politician in the nation". I'm sure Mr. Obama would be proud of that title. It would not surprise me if he became President, that my rights as a gun owner would be restricted, if not eliminated if he got his way. (Handguns were already banned in Chicago, Washington DC and San Fransico, despite the 2nd amendment)

But Democrats brushed him off as a fear mongerer. Things only got worse in 2006 when the Republicans lost control, home prices soared to unsustainable levels and partisan democrats further pushed for easier home loans that did not require any of the traditional safety nets that kept home buying only to the ones who could best afford it. Even illegal immigrants were buying and living in homes they could not afford. Now that the debt is due, they flee for Mexico.

The re-up rate is lower than it has ever been,including during Viet-Nam, Korea, and WW2. Even extraordinary bonuses have not significantly boosted re-enlistment rates. What will happen? Jobs will leave America and job creation will decline due to Obama's ruthless regressive tax hikes on small and large businesses, y'know, the places that employ Americans. Corporations will serve as his own private piggy bank, becoming a source of funding for his social programs until he (and the rest of the liberal Dems in Congress) tax them right out of business, which will put the workers of those corporations on the street. Obama's socialist health care program will send the stock market plunging due to the instability such a proposal would create. Also, as in Canada, the good doctors leave the profession since they get paid the same whether they remove your brain tumor or just prescribe an aspirin. A shortage of docs coupled with people who go to the hospital for every headache will result in rationed care and waiting lists for most procedures. Hope you don't mind waiting six weeks to begin your cancer treatment. Unemployment will rise. Gay marriage will be legalized in all 50 states whether the people want it or not. Lawsuits will be filed against private Christian schools, churches, and organizations like the Boy Scouts that refuse to endorse, hire, or welcome homosexuals. And churches that refuse to marry gay couples will be the subjects of lawsuits as well. Obama has pledged to remove the secret ballot in union elections, which means unions will be able to intimidate, harass, or beat workers (not legally, of course). He will suppress criticism of his agenda by passing the "Fairness Doctrine" which will cause radio stations to remove talk shows, and he'll use the IRS to harass those who speak against him. Gas prices will rise since Obama will never allow using our own natural resources or nuclear power. No drilling, no nuclear, no clean coal, no natural gas means we reduce our lifestyles, eat less, don't heat or cool our homes as we wish, and gas prices will be sky high. Other than that, Obama is a great choice for prez. Just great.
