Nope.

Not even close. My father has light hair and blue eyes. Husband has dark hair and brown eyes.
-
In my experience, this seems to be accurate, only for me I was not raised with a father, so my husband looks more like my mother's son, than I do her daughter (since I look like my father). +5

My girlfriend looks a little like my mother, I guess. She's got the same kind of hair, and the same color eyes, but other than that she's completely different.
-
I'm not married but the guy im in love with doesn't really look like my father, but funny thing is he has almost the same personality! :)
-
If I had to get straddled with a man that looked like my father, I would have to kill myself immediately. My husband looks ABSOLUTELY nothing like that man and actually, he feels the same way about his mother and I look absolutely nothing like her either! So there goes that. Freud was a coke head!
-
No, but she looks more and more like HER mother with each passing year.
-
I have been married for 23 years. I look and act nothing like his mother and he looks and acts nothing like my father, so much for science.
-
I don't see anything of my father in my husband, looks or personality. But I am a bit like his mother, not in looks but in temperament.
-
No.I don't resemble his mother either.Come to think of it,I don't know anyone in that situation.
-
Well, they both have boobs
-
I couldn't stand my dad, and my husband looks nothing like him, nor is his character anything like him.
-
No, not at all.
-
For my parents my dad acts like my mother's mother. He can have a bit more of an attitude.
-
I'm not currently married but when I was, No. She looked nothing like my mother, and I looked nothing like her father. Life goes on.
-
No. He's quite the opposite.
-
Not even close. My wife is short blonde hair, DD, Blue eyes, curvy and confident. My mother long brown hair, small cup, green eyes, not curvy and not confident.
-
Actually ... it's considerably more complicated than that. When it comes to personality, both men and women tend to seek out partners who are similar to the parent with whom they had the most issues, in an attempt to work those issues out by proxy. And even that's only part of the story.
-
I have read that we tend to be attracted to ourselves and partners many times resemble one another.
-
nope.
-
its true. my spouse looks like my mother. i married her because i expected her to look like her mother. her mother is hot. and of course my mother is not.
-
The women I have dated and the one I was married to looked nothing like my mother. Last thing I want to see. I didn't even go to her funeral.
-
Not even remotely close for either my mom or her dad.
-
You know what? He sorta does! Wow Thanks for that post!

I read that it goes much further than just your spouse. We tend to surround ourselves with friends and lovers who look or act like us and our immediate relatives (or whoever you were bought up by). Even our pets are chosen on this basis. There was a theory that it went even further than that, once we have our first circle of friends, we begin to be interested in people that look or act like them as well. And so it snowballs. In answer to the original question, I'd say my boyfriend was more like my mother than my father. Whether this is because we're in a same sex relationship, I don't know..
-
Not even close - nor do I look like his.
-
Not even remotely.
-
No way!!! I sure don't look anything like his mother and he doesn't look like my dad either.
-
No. I would never marry someone like my mother! I was drawn to my wife because she is so UNLIKE my mother in the way she looks, acts and in her attitude towards men.
