It seems to vary. Once when I was at Barnes and Noble I went to the Psychiatric Reference section and looked up my diagnosis in the DSM. 300 II was classified as General Anxiety Disorder. Perhaps I've first gone to the reference section a plurality of the time.

I have all kinds of interests (my 1st 2 jobs ever were in bookstores), I'm usually all over the place...depends on my mood. But I usually go to the sale tables and new releases first. And magazines...travel...cookbooks...LGBT...fiction.

If I'm just browsing, which hasn't happened really since 2003 BC, I'd usually head over to the Art or Computer section. Nowadays, I know EXACTLY what I want (I research OL) so I head in, grab the book, and head right back out.

I usually go to the New Age section because that is where they keep all of the books on religions other than the traditional ones (i.e. Satanism and Wicca)just to see if they have a copy of "The Satanic Bible" By Anton LaVey. I already own my copy, I just like to see what places actually have it. After that I usually head to the romance section. Imagine that, a romantic satanist...

Horror. I'm a Stephen King FANATIC. ("I'm your umber un an..." - Kingsters will get that joke). From there, I go over the writer's reference books...then back to horror...then i tend to wander around for a bit...then buy something and out the door.
