But then how would I fuel my addiction! Only if I was busy, like on holiday I didn't come on for a week. You wouldn't BELIEVE how many emails I had!
-
Yes. It won't be easy, but it's not like I'm going to suffer an emotional withdrawal or anything. In about a week (Tuesday), I'm going to have go without it for two weeks, and Answerbag with have to deal with not receiving any answers pertaining to Richard Simmons and David Hasselhoff for that time period as well. It'll be hard for all involved, but it is achievable.
-
The only way I would and have been able to stay away from the internet for more than a week, is if it is not available to me. In September I went to Mexico and didn't go on the internet for 10 days, but if there had been a computer there, I probably would have at least checked my email.
-
If I don't have a computer available to access the internet I don't go psychotic or anything- so yes, I could (and do sometimes) - but when I have a computer in front of me the temptation is just too great!
-
The answer depends entirely on where I was, what I was doing, and who I was with. In general, yes.
-
I have gone without the Internet for months before, but I have to say, "I HATED IT!" Usually I end up doing things like watching T.V. or reading books. One of which is healthy for your mind.. o.o One isn't. Actually, I suppose it would be healthy to take a break once in a while to embrace reality. You know, like go outside, take a walk through nature. But I'm a Wiccan. *Wink wink* Either way, Earth is healthy for you. Nature is too. Have fun!
-
It's weird but I have gone a week without the internet... sort of. It did seem a little more peaceful in my living area. I read some books. It was nice feeling detached from the world.
-
good question. coincedence, as a week ago, i would probably have said no way! but only two weeks ago we tryed to swapp from dial up to broadband, and they need to resend the modem, so i have not had the internet for what seems like forever. it is true that i have missed it, as there are things which i have which need to be gone on on a regular basis.. myspace etc.. i have managed to survive however.. but i know some people so into cyber and internet that they would really feel it if they had none. x
-
Nope, I have to go on AB, and research for my homework. So it's truly impossible not to go on the internet for more than a week.
-
Not without a 12 step program to get me thru the week.
-
Um yea..I was grounded for 3 months for lying to try and protect my brother. I took the blame. I call it bravery. My father calls it idiotic. Whatever. But ya I was grounded from the phone, computer, the world outside of my room and work for 3 whole months during summer...
-
Yes. I could quit for a year if I had to. I always could find something else to do (there is always something else to do). I run part of my business through the internet, but if the world wide web didn't exist starting today, I would adjust.
-
Could you go without air for more than a week?
-
Is there a patch to ween me off this addiction?
-
I wouldn't want to...but if I had something better to do I could...
-
Not possible... I do almost all of the "business side" of my job online. So I have 3 tabs going with with work stuff and then a whole other window just for AB...
-
i DIE without internet how wud i keep in touch with friends and i wudn't be to answer questions and ask questions on answerbag!!
-
i do it all the time...sure i could...maybe if i need homework computerwise, then trouble is here, but, for fun, yeah, i could.
-
With the help of "Paul Mckenna" maybe.....
-
No I am definitely addicted! Ok if i was on a cruise YES!
-
I went without it for the first 39 1/2 years of my life. What's a week? Bah, piece of cake.
-
yes
-
I have gone without it for as long as two months. As soon as I get back to it though, I am on my laptop 24/7. Its good there is computer addiction help online, its like going to AA in a bar.
-
I could not theres nothing to do a lot of the time!
-
NO WAY!!! My mom grounded me but I snuck on anyways. No way could I live without Internet! It's practically my life! Which is really sad, but I do have a life hehe
-
NEVER!lol i dont think i would stand a weekk!!!!IM SOOOO addicted
-
I always think I never could, but when forced to, I make it just fine. Now, that situation is technically impossible - I use the Internet every day for work.
-
I don't understand the question. Somebody needs to rate this question "nonsense". ;p
-
OMG, I would have to go through a 20 step program for the withdrawls!!
-
Yes I managed for 38 years before Seriuosly though I would be ok with that, after a day or two I would be getting used to it.
-
Nope... Well, kinda. :D
-
Nooo haha I cant live without my Internet
-
I didn't LIKE it, but I had no choice when my computer died a few years ago befoe I got a new one and also a laptop for a back up! I survived, it was just VERY odd, not having it, using email, etc for a whole week. I actually felt a real sense of LOSS.
-
Sorry, I thought that I was answering another question.
-
no way man i would go crazy nuts.
-
Yes i could but i would be very bored.
-
i can't go without the internet for more than two hours
-
If I had something else to occupy my mind and my time-like lying around on a beach for the whole week with a scantily clad, muscle bound guy bringing me umbrella drinks every hour.
-
Yes I actually just use mine at work so I go al weekend without it and if I had to go a week without I could. I kinda have to have it for my job though so I doubt that will happen.
-
it would say r.i.p on head if i went without
-
no how could i go without this aweseome with you guys in it :>
-
NO FCKING WAY!
-
I went for six months w/o access at home. I thought I was gonna go nuts.
-
I could and I have, but it is hard. The worst part is that it only takes 2-3 days for my e-mail box to fill up.
-
Of course I can! I can even live without Internet for a month if 1. you give me a million dollars as a reward, or 2. I had to live without Internet or in prision where there is Internet available, FYI, or 3. doing so can save someone's life and protect someone from suffering [...]
-
oh no!, the pain, the suffering!
-
maybe..
-
I did pretty much...Maybe....4 months? I was grounded...It was a long long time
-
Not with my real life the way it is now. Ask me again in another 15 months and I might tell you different, but for now, no way.
-
practicaly imposible i need to do all of my reasearch, homework, and of course AB on the internet so I wont get behind in my school work
-
I'll find out this week...........
-
JEEZE!, Good question, YES! But I don't think my company would make very much money.
-
Yes, I could if I were at home, because I spend all my time with my little ones, and doing whatever else I have to do. At work that's a different story. It gets boring here at times, so I stay on the computer as much as possible.
-
At home, yes, with a little planning. I would have to let people know I won't be accessing email for a while. And if I have any bank-related online transactions coming up, I need to do them ahead of time. At work, no, not without losing my job. (I have to use email and internet to interact with customers.)
-
Yeah. If i'm allowed to have a TV replace it.
-
Yeah, I usually do cuz I'm constantly having my computer restored @ the shop which takes about a week. I just go out more & watch a bit more TV.
-
I wouldnt want to, but i had to you would still see me alive, just with crazy hair and baggy eyes.
-
I probably could. I would play The Sims 2 Pets anyway.
-
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!how would i live without friendster,yahoo,answerbag and youtube?how??????
-
Yes, and I have for about a few months.
-
NO! I have a web based business.
-
I've done it and I could easily do it again.
-
i would be able 2, but it would be very very very<x66> difficult
-
Yes I could, because I have. It is no biggie. I actually did more reading.lol
-
I can give up whenever I want! I just don't want to.......
-
lol wudnt phase me as long as i had a skateboard and some warhammer stuff to do lol
-
If I was without the Internet for over a week I'd probably lose my job since part of my job is to keep it up:)
-
I have, and wish to never do it again :-P When we go on vacation we take the laptop with us lol... Why? World of warcraft... its not a game... its a lifestyle
-
I can and I have. For the first 2 days I kept thinking of how many emails were piling up. But, if you're in the boonies, it just starts to fade from your mind. More relaxing outside the big city :)
-
Yes, when I go on vacation I certainly can. However, I have to admit, I found a way to check e-mail while on vacation in Rome to let the rest of the family know how we were doing...so I guess I'm still addicted.
-
I could, but only if I was away from computers.
-
No way i would go crazy
-
Yeah, I went to Jamaica for a week and didn't use the internet...
-
I can do it when I am overseas in Bali, as I rarely get near a computer. I might get to send an email if I am down in the church offices, but that is rare, maybe once in 2 weeks....but boy do I make up for it when I get home....LOL
-
depends.
-
I don't think so. My boyfriend is in Kuwait. It's hard not having him here and even harder if we don't hear from each other. Even if it's a week.
-
Yes I can if I have a book on hand..Ü But unfortunately, Internet is part of my work, so unless there is a major downtime in the internet, I can be away from it. Ü
-
I have.... and I could....
-
At home, I'd be frustrated. But I do that every year on vacation. Hey, I cope without indoor plumbing for a few weeks each year. Actually, it's rather refreshing.
-
yes I could, babe!
-
I wouldn't. Unless I'm in a trip or etc, but in my regular life, I do everything on there! I wouldn't have social life nor entertainment and all my bills would be late without it!!!
-
It's really not that bad. Try a week without TV, cell phone, the net etc. It really gives you a better appreciation of the world immediately around you...the only problem is a shitload of messages when you decide to return to our technological society.
-
I actually did it when my computer (ladtop) got a virus and was out for repairs. Boring week and I missed everyone!
-
I have been without a computer for about 2 three week periods as well as 5 one week periods this year already and the withdrawals can be quite difficult.
-
NOOOOO!!!! GO GOD! I freaked when I thought I was going to be without it for a weekend!!! OUGH!! calamity!!! calm place calm place calm place ...
-
It might be good for me. I was without access for 3 days recently. I could catch up on watching movies, play video games, listen to new music, figure out the next project to start around the house.
-
yes i can
-
When my OptiPlex 755 died in November, it took until around March to get my OptiPlex 960...so yes.
-
Yes. I grew up during the 1950's before tbe existence of personal computers and the Internet
-
If I had to...I've gone without Facebook for 30-day periods several times - most recently back-to-back with just a couple of active days in-between.
-
no problem
-
Easily, and I've done so recently.
-
Sure, but why should I?
-
yes
-
I went without for about 40 years. I think I could make it for a week.
