  • Every time you prevent an abortion don't you have a 50% chance of saving a woman's life? :-)
  • agreed, but acknowledge specific contexts where it is not true or may even be patently false.
  • more like pro choice = anti-child
  • Disagree
  • I disagree, I am PRO WOMAN. I don't tell other women what to do with their bodies. I personally could never kill my unborn child, even if my life were at stake. I would tell my husband to love our baby for the both of us. However, I am not about to tell another woman that she is a monster because she chooses to have an abortion. There are many circumstances that make abortion seem like the logical choice. I think the moment, day and time, that we allow the government control our biological rights, we are all doomed. I have a hard to listening to people that protest outside clinics with pictures of dead fetus's. I don't let people scare me with made up terms like " partial birth abortions", I don't live my life based on what other people think, and I don't expect anyone else to. Having an abortion doesn't make you a bad person, or woman.
  • Your position is an illogical absolute, hence I cannot agree or disagree with it. To disagree with it would be to admit it has relevance and substance; to agree would be simply idiotic. One man's opinion, anyway.
  • I disagree. Pro-life = pro-life.
  • Abortion is violence against women. It is the other way around.
  • I know there’s plenty of intolerant people out there that will downrate this mercilessly, but oh well: Vehemently disagree. In fact, quite the opposite. In my book, pro-life is synonymous with pro-choice: we can always choose our actions, but we can’t choose the consequences of those actions. That’s why there are “good” and “bad” choices: a “bad” choice has consequences that keep us from making other choices, in the future. I can’t think of anything that limits future choices more than ending a life, can you? I submit that anti-woman would be anything that limits a woman’s choices. Ergo, Pro-abortion = anti-woman; pro-life = pro-choice = pro-woman.
  • Congratulations...you finally declared a position worth debating. As luck would have it, I agree with your position about "conditional births", including those unfortunate instances involving severely disabled babies. I agree; the mothers should have a choice. I'm not sure I agree about abortions for the sake of convenience. That just seems sideways to me, and don't even think about lecturing me about the pains of giving birth or raising a child as a single parent. I'm very cognizant of both. So it looks like we have consensus about "conditional" births, but we'll likely agree to disagree about "convenience" abortions. May I suggest that next time you want to debate an issue that you make your point up front, thereby saving a lot of time and angst? For some reason, I was unable to post this as a comment, so I had to submit it as an answer to respond.
  • Agree. Pro-abortion opens up another avenue to the woman and recognizes her ability and right to make a decision for herself as a human being. Pro-life is a misleading brand term for advertising only and suggests those that are not pro-life are anti-life, which is both a lie and hateful propaganda. That makes pro-life anti-life, which explains why you have "pro-life" people killing and exploding things whereas pro-choice people are kind, loving, and willing to let everyone else pursue life, liberty, and happiness as they see fit instead of imposing restrictions on their choices. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/989815
  • Disagree :)
  • Disagree. I am all for women choosing what they do with their own bodies, go out and have an abortion if you want, but, I don't think those who are pro life or anti abortion or whatever term you want to label them with this week are anti women.
  • Disagree, This is the 21st freakin century! There are more birth control devices and or pills available than any time in history, Getting pregnant when one does not want to is just ignorance or lack of self control. Abortion should not be used as a method of birth control except in cases where the female has no control over the pregnancy such as incest or rape. Other than that take a fuking pill, use an IUD, Foam, or a condom or whatever or or keep your legs closed. If you are exposing yourself to an unwanted pregnancy imagine what else you are exposing yourself to! Aids, STD's, WOW! Show a little responsibility!
  • Agree. Or put it another way, so called "pro-lifers" are not really pro-life. They are simply against a woman's right to choose.
  • My mistake. It was wolves, not moose. Here's an article from the Anchorage Daily News http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/wildlife/wolves/story/410461.html
  • How do you get that Pro life is anti life? Sorry, I'm having trouble keeping up with your segmented thinking. Prolife is very very basic, you are for the life of the child.
  • I disagree. The most vocal advocates within the pro-life movement that I know ARE women. Half of all the aborted babies are female (actually slightly more). I have always been FOR equal rights for women, equal pay, no limits on job possibilities, even affirmative action to correct decades of inequity. I think it is unfortunate that those who do not belive that abortion is good for women and society, and that the unborn child is a sentient human worthy of protection are considered anti-feminist. Some pro-lifers are, but it is purely coincidental. The two issues are separate in my view.
  • Disagree... pro-life = pro-life
  • Perhaps not inherently, but I've found through experience that they seem to overlap much too often to be pinned down to simple coincidence.
  • I disagree, I am prolife, and some of my favorite people are women. Well, my mom for one, my wife for another, then there's my daughters...
  • disagree.
  • Only in the sense they wanna put womens rights on the back burner.
  • Pro-choice = Anti young human being.
  • I'm a woman. And I am pro-life. I disagree.
  • I'm a woman and I'm pro-choice, but I don't think women and men who are pro-life are anti-woman.
  • Disagree. Pro-choice means it's fine to kill a female baby who would grow up to be a woman had she not been killed. I'd call that anti-woman.
  • Pro life as a movement I definitely feel is Anti-woman, and anti-female sexuality; she must be punished for it.
  • If by pro life you mean anti abortion then yes.
