i lived in a town called newtown mo for 5 years in a 4 bdrm 2bthrm house. for 350.00 a month, i traded lawn services for rent with the landlord. the pop. is tiny, the town is tiny. everybody helps evrybody, and it cheap with NO crime, yes i said NO crime. drawbacks are you have to travel for work, but the schools are great, the housing rocks, and anyone can affrod it. email if you want more info. ps-- i moved to be with dying family or id still be there. sih80@yahoo.com

Ironically, my uncle lives in SC on a private island; no clue what his house cost, but here’s a picture from the island’s web site: http://braysisland.com/realestate.php His is the “Marsh Homesite.” (Click it to enlarge.) UPDATE: his *was* the “Marsh Homesite.” The site is *much* nicer now, though.
