Those little 13 inch ones with rabbit ears and no remote control? How did we ever survive with them?!;)
-
yea still got one but dont use it
-
Yup. I remember when we first got color TV I overheard my grandfather say "I spent all that money on a new color TV and all the kid watches are black and white programs!" Most of my favorite shows were filmed in black and white. I quit watching TV in 1984 but I still have my old black and white set and it still works although we dont get any TV reception here whatsoever.

Afraid so.
-
indeed i do. I can also remember the first time I saw a color tv.
-
Yes. We used one until I was in the first years of high school.
-
Yep... I remember only three (well four if we managed UHF) channels, too. I remember turning it off, and the picture shrinking to a white dot in the middle of the screen! (And the 3-5 minute warm ups!) Then we got a color set (bad color by today's standards, but still good!) Then cable started and we got 12 whole channels!

Unfortunately, yes, LoL! I remember seeing programs advertised on my black and white t.v. as "in color", (when programs first started being broadcast in color). It was years before we could afford a color t.v. to see "Land of the Giants ... in color". I even lived where the only channel we got was NBC. Back then, I hated their programming, but had no choice.

Yes, we didn't get a color set until the early 60s and then my very first personal TV in my room was a black and white. I still have a B&W set that we used to use for traveling, it's not that old.
-
Yeah,its in the camper!

I remember the black and white TV till I was 5-6 years old, the color TV had been out for a while but they were too expensive and my parents didn’t want to get a new one till the one we had broke.
-
Yes. And 3 channels. And test patterns at midnight.

Yes my first tv in my bedroom when i was a teenager was black and white, (we had colour downstairs) but i have owned a few, when i couldnt afford a colour one.:)
-
Of course. The first TV my family bought was a black and white with the antenna on the roof.:) (brings back fond memories of the programs of those days)
-
Yes, when I was very little we had a black and white tv. I remember it was exciting when we got our first color tv set.
-

-
