  • Make up a story, maybe not about being allergic... but id never return a kitty to begin with. (hence why i have 3) :D
  • I would tell the truth, or something close to it. "This kitty doesn't fit in my household" is all you really have to say. It's hard to imagine not adoring any kitty, though. edited to fix typo
  • I had an animal adoption problem recently. The new cat simply took out after in incumbent. Went to web sites, vets, specialist. Give them both prozac per instructions. Told the truth when I return animal so they could place it properly in single animal household next time. To fudge would be doing all concerned a disservice.
  • I would tell the truth, so that they could place it in appropriate home, or at least warn the new parents of what its behavior was like with me. I've never returned a cat I adopted, but I do keep it for at least 6 months before I find it a new home so I can see if it has any bad habits or behaviors. And when I give it to its new owners, I tell them to bring it back IMMEDIATELY if it misbehaves.
  • I had a nutcase cat and when I returned it, I told the adoption agency all the issues I had with the cat. I wrote an entire report and gave it to them. By doing this, I was hopeful that they would present the cat in a truthful way. Much to my dismay, they continued with the same sweet sob story that was on his cage when we had this beast. A few months later someone else adopts this cat. After three days, they say the cat makes the kid allergic and must come back. Now all of a sudden, the report on this cat hanging on the cage is vastly different, more truth and less fluff. Did they not believe me? Did they think I was making it all up? I don't think the cat gave the kid an allergy, I think this cat gave the kid such a bite that they realized it wasn't for them, and they had no other cats for this cat to beat up on.
  • I'd tel them everything I cold so they could place the cat with a family that was a more fitting home for the cat. I wouldn't lie as I would want to help the cat as much as I could.
  • "This cat's gone bad, can I get a fresh one?"
