I have 3 within a reasonable driving distance from my home. It is a great alternative to a movie theater. I can't wait.
-
There are at least 2 in my county that i know of. They don't have speakers anymore, you have to tune in the sound on the car radio or bring a radio.
-
There was one in Hawaii in 2000. I'm not sure if it's still there or not.

I have seen a few in Ohio and one in Maryland but they are rarely open. Boy I sure do miss the days of piling a bunch of people in the car and my parents taking us to the drive in, putting that big ass speaker thingy in the window and watching movies, or even playing on the swings and stuff they usually used to have there as well. Some of them even had flea markets and events going on in the day and then movies at night. People would get together and hang out, socialize and of course you had privacy if you wanted it...much better than loud, cramped, smelly theaters we have now days!
-
I know there are a few still in ohio..not sure about the other states :)
