When I was a kid there was nothng BUT black and white TV. And you had to tune in the (few) channels with those stupid rabbit ears, or a tower antenna with a box inside the house that you turned the dial click by click till the station was clear. UHF was kinda like the TV equivalent of AM radio now.

I still own one.

No - they were too difficult to chew so my parents stuck with regular food.

I was raised on black and white TV's. We only got 4 channels, and used pliers to change the channel because the knob was missing. We got our first color set when I was 11, but my Dad put it in my parents room. He would only bring it into the livingroom for special stuff. We finally got a color one for the livingroom when I was 16. We only got 4 channels, and used pliers to change the channel because the knob was missing.

Yes, we got our first TV before color was invented. My Dad bought a "colorizer" for ours that was very funny. It was a piece of see-through, cling-plastic that was colored blue on top, pink in the middle, and green on the bottom. It made the shows look hilarious.

My first experience with TV was Black & White, only on Sundays at the neighbors apartment. We watched Bonanza. That was in the mid-sixties.
