  • i would give them ten bucks' an wish them a good day.
  • I'll give them something or acknowledge them and apologise, I don't like ignoring them
  • Alway's You have to learn to share you'r stuff in life
  • If I have change to spare I give it to them. There but for the grace of God go I.
  • If I have spare change or cash I usually give it to them. Why not, ya know?
  • I give it. I do believe you have to give to get.
  • Only if he looks desperate enough. Too many able bodied people on the street looking for a handout for beer and fags and the like. If a geezer is genuinely down on his luck I am happy to help. If it`s some 18 year old punk squeegee looking for beer money there`s no way.
  • I look at them straight in the face and say; I'll pay you a dollar for you to walk away from me!
  • Hell no! I am a part-time mall security officer. Most of the bums I deal with are there because of their own laziness and stupidity. Not only do I not give money, but I confiscate anything they have in a jar. They didn't earn it and they are not allowed to panhandle on mall property.
  • I usually do -- it's a karma thing A few years back, there was a homeless person that hung out at a convenience store not too far from my house. I seen him there every morning for months. Every now and then I would buy him a cup of coffee and something to eat. I never gave him money because he usually had a quart beer bottle in his hand. One day I spoke to him about getting a job with my (then) husband. I told him I'd have my husband come by the next morning and pick him up and take him to the job site. After that I never saw that guy around my small town... any where... ?
  • I don't give money to panhandlers. I have in the past when being asked fro money for food, offered to take them somewhere to eat and only once taken up on my offer. The others said, no, they just wanted the money. So, no money from me. I have also offered temporary work for those that say they will work for food or money. And again, I've been turned down.
  • Neither. I have small business card like fliers that give information how to contact a charity or agency that can help them, including a toll free number.
  • I ignore them. I'd like to have them arrested for loitering. They'd be better off in the system, anyway.
  • never walked a mile in that person's shoe's so yeah what the hell here's 37 cent's
  • I dont carry cash- and I tell them that
  • I've given both male and female bums change and sometimes dollars but, females always have a better chance of getting anything off me.
  • I don't usually carry any cash. If they ask I'll give them the spare change I have. It'll be under a dollar because that'll be all I'll have: parking meter money. I can send them to the City Mission if they look desperate enough. Usually they don't.
  • Bums are, generally, poor managers of finances. I'm nearly certain I'll be putting my money to better use, like video games, or two statues of a lion to guard the door of my apartment.
  • I give them what I have on me :)
  • I have a rather odd rule about this: If a panhandler is just standing there expecting free money, I'll keep walking. However, if they can earn their money by telling me a good story, making me laugh, or entertaining me somehow, I will give them a sizeable donation. I used to be pretty good friends with a couple of homeless guys in Syracuse. One played guitar on the street for money, and I always gave him whatever I had, and I'd usually hang around for a while to sing and dance with him for a while. The other was called The Maniac (because he would just stand there singing "I'm a maniac, MAAAniac on the floor!"), and he was the nicest guy ever. I always hooked him up whenever I could, with money, or sometimes I would buy him dinner. He would usually agree to buy me a case of beer in return (I was underage when we first met).
  • a girl on the street asked me for a quarter. i gave her a twenty. she gave it back. she only wanted a quarter.
  • normaly no but i have went int a bk or somthing like that and grabed them a couple burgers just to make sure they didnt use the money to buy liquer like some do.
  • I used to give money, but now living where I do, I realize I'm looked as an easy target for demanding money off of. People have actually said 'give me money'. No, I don't fucking think so.
  • I'd give him. It's always good to give to help others.
  • It depends on what kind of shoes he is wearing, and if he drives a nicer car than I do. Really though, I try to give food and other items that I have on me that might help. I get turned down a lot too.
  • well you never know someones situation or story so if i have money i always give. whatever they do with it after, not my buisness. As people we are here to not only to do good for ourselves, but others. wheather thats our chilren, our earth, our moms ,our dads, or Bob who sits on the street corner. Do good for others and you will eventually do good for yourself. thanks for listening.
  • I have never given a bum spare change. I have however offered to buy them whatever it was they were claiming to need the change for. Those who were honest usually came with me and those who only wanted it to get drugs or liquor usually turned down my offers.
  • I give it. What they choose to do with it is their own responsability; mine is to give freely.
  • i don't usually carry money on me anymore - because i'm awful and i'll spend it. but once in a blue moon i'll have some money on me and i don't usually hesitate to offer some money
  • Ignore them, it wouldn't be fair to the next 8 bums I'll pass in the next few minutes.
  • yeah i usually do if i have any money :)
  • Sometimes I do and sometimes not. I know many of those people are either scamming or will use the money for drugs. I would buy them food instead and hand them the food. If they throw it away I get the hint they wanted something else.
  • If I have change to spare, or even a dollar I will give it to someone in need. On the other hand though, I've had many "bums" come up to me and ask me for money for alcohol, drugs, and/or cigarettes. One guy even told me he had just gotten out of prison and really needed a drink. I'm not going to give money to support someone else's habits when I can barely afford to feed myself.
