  • I'm alive. They are not.
  • No. They lived a lot longer than me.
  • In book knowledge I am definitely smarter, but when it comes to common-sense they are far ahead of me.
  • Nope, I'm not sure I ever will be.
  • They are pretty damn smart and I'm borderline stupid.lol
  • Damn right I am!!!!!!!!!!
  • Although both my parents are now deceased, I agree with HanginJudge.
  • No. My parents are brilliant.
  • They are both much smarter than me. In fact, I am so dumb compared to them that they are probably very ashamed to have me as a daughter.
  • I think that if I said yes to this question, it would prove that I'm not. :)
  • since my Dad is 6ft under..I guess so..Mom and I are on pretty equal footing though
  • Nope although they both have passed on, I feel i still have much to learn. My Mom at the age I am now went back to school and got her degree in sociology My dad never finish High school but went on to become a butcher for 37 yr,a round dance teacher, then even went back to school to learn electronics to build sound equipment for round dancing as he didn't like what was on the market at the time. He was still learn even at 70 when he passed as he had equipment that he played with that recorded from CD/DVD/cassette/reel-reel you name it and he could record it. He always was telling me how proud he was of me going back to school and kept telling me to keep it up. Funny thing was he had a PC and it was the one thing that confused him, so in that area I was smarter, we use to laugh alot about that.....
  • Only where technology is concerned. :)
  • How the hell would I raise a child like me? Definitely no.
  • No, but for a long time as a teenager I thought I was.
  • Depends - if you're judging smart by who can do calculus and quantumn mechanics, then I'll win that easily. If, on the other hand, you're talking smart enough to have more than a teaspoon of common sense, then I'd have to give them that one.
  • I may be more knowledgable in terms of things 2008. But I'm not wiser.
  • No... They tell me...the only smart thing about me is my mouth >:3
  • In some respects yes. But being smart is subjective. It depends on the topic, genetics, education, aptitudes and a myriad of other intangibles.
  • I'm better educated than my parents, but smarter is a relative term. My parents were wise, especially my Mother, and I would never consider myself smarter than her. I may be aware of more info than she was, but She had great understanding, so if she was privy to the same info I have... I'd say she would still be more advanced intellectually. My dad was cunning, or clever and charming, traits I have inherited from him.. so in a head to head comparisson, I would bow to his life experience in a heartbeat.
  • It depends, sometimes I am, but someimes I act completely stupid. LOL
  • I think my dad was getting pretty closed minded in his distaste and contempt for politics and society. I think I'm smarter, but most likely not, by a long shot. As far as academic knowledge goes though, there's no way in hell I could compete.
  • wish i was :P
  • I at least hope so! My mother has various learning disabilities (so much that it makes her immature and child-like) while my father is just a closed-minded "redneck" (you would agree, if you knew him). Also, I'm better at math than either of them.
  • By the time i was in 4th grade my mom could no longer help me with things i didn't understand and by the time i was in 8th grade my dad couldn't help me.
  • When I was younger I used to think I was, but of course I now know I'm not.
  • experience-wise probably not. but in over all smartness in the ability to learn, and naturally perceive things without having first studied them, yes, quite.
  • yes...i know that my parents are old and have more experience than me... but i don't think they are samter than me.. sometimes they keep asking me for things and tell me what do about an issue... i know things they never heared about it...
  • Yes and they know it too. I just try to be modest and not to show off. I am the expert in humility since this is a big sign of respect.
  • Yes, if only in academics. Both Mum and Dad didn't finish high school (although they did do trades instead), whereas I finished year 12 and am now at university. But in terms of life experiences, I know nothing compared to them.
  • In some ways yes, in others no. I benefited from being able to build on their foundation, but they have had more time to ask questions and get answers.
