Quite so yo...
-
Yes, they were way ahead of their time:)
-
Mostly, though I still hold Sgt. Pepper's against them.
-
I always think how far ahead they were of their contemporaries. I think their music has aged very well.
-
What can you say, but they could write songs!
-
Yep, one of the best.
-
Good music of ALL types are timeless. Yes. The Beatles wrote timeless music.
-
always. there's never been anyone close to being as influential as they were.
-
Definitely. And in "Across the Universe," other people covered the songs, and the songs were still terrific.
-
I agree entirely. Other bands seem to have aged, but bands like the Beatles and the Stones just seem as fresh today as they did when I first heard them in the mid 60s.
-
I do actually think they sound very much a product of their day. Instrumentation today is very different. It does not make them less but they are old fashioned now!
-
Some of their music is just timeless. It was so appropriate when they first released it, and still is today.
-
I live the Beatles, and have been a fan for a long time, but I would not say they sound "modern." Their songs are classics, but they do sound dated—some more than others.
-
What really surprises me is the stale old stuff that is done today. In other words maybe the Beatles aren't as new sounding as the newer stuff is old sounding. I hope that made sense.
-
What else can one say about the Beatles? When recorded, their music was way ahead of its time. The Beatles had that good luck talent of making each song they recorded..........different. They were big fans of Chuck Berry and you can hear this in many of their songs. The Beatles acheieved what every artist ever hoped to achieve, magic throught their music that lasts the test of time.
-
Modern? Haha, good one! Jack Edit: hey, folks, don't give me negative feedback; I'm entitled to my opinion!
-
Amongst other things, classics have the qualities that let them endure.
