Yes. Most residents must travel pretty far for work.
-
Not as hard as it used to be.
-
Not as tough as in the past. Now there are lots of jobs for you and the shops will even be worried that they will lack staff.

Where I live, I applied for twenty different jobs. I didn't have any problems with my applications, I called back like you're supposed to, and I am a good candidate for a job. Four weeks past and all my applications were either lost or the place decided they weren't hiring anymore. I was finally able to get a job because my best friend pulled some strings at his work and got me in.

no, NZ is in a stage of all time low unemployment, but I think things are about to change..............

No, there are plenty of jobs in my area. In fact, we have way more jobs than people who are willing to work.

G'day anonymous, Thanks for your question. Canberra has full employment at less than 3 per cent. We have a skills shortage although that may change with the Rudd razor gang. Regards

Depends on who you ask... If you ask the recent wave of thousands of immigrants who have been coming to my area from less fortunate countries, looking for a brighter future for themselves and their children, there are plenty of jobs, so long as you are willing to... uh... work. According to a segment of the population who were born here, educated here, and all that other good stuff, they "can't find work" and would rather be on assistance, living off the tax payer. (Now, before you give me a hard time about people who have genuine reasons about being in such a situation and would really rather be providing for their families on their own, I'm referring to the many young, capable, non-restricted, single, and often non-parents who are just plain lazy.)

Within 50 miles of my home, yes. There are only 13 places that hire within that 50 miles. Outside that 50 mile radius, no, there is a very large city that is still doing well.
-

Here in California there are still jobs to be had, but it is getting tougher for people. many Construction fields have laid people off.

Yes, very. That's why even if my present job sucks, I still stick to it.
-
Very hard. My husband has been looking for work as our savings we've been living on are gone, but it's always slow here, especially in the cold weather. Things are tough:-(
-
I never had a problem but I haven't looked in a while. I have heard of people that did have real problems finding jobs. I did find that those people weren't actively looking though, not all of them, a lot though.
-
It is hard to find everywhere.
-
Human needs are unlimited and therefore potential work is unlimited.
-
I seem to pass more help wanted signs then anything else. Work is there for those who don't mind doing it -- work, that is.
-
It depends how much money you are looking to make.
