I care a great deal. That's why I hate to hear people crank their stereos. Over-amplification washes out so many details...

I can listen to a lo-fi or really old recording if the music is good enough.

i actually prefer music that sounds scratchy and raw. i like low income recordings aka 4-tracks or whatnot. those overly produced albums just sound fake.
-
i care a lot about it, specially when i want to make all the Neighbourhood listen to my music
-
I used to care more..which is odd because I am now slowly losing my hearing (not totally--just age related).

I care a LOT! I want the music to sound how it was MEANT to sound. That means Hendrix is played On Vinyl. Period. Pirated MP3s are OUT. NOTHING is meant to be heard digitally molested like that.

Ugh... A helluva lot more than I should.
-
It's gotta sound bombastic but with a lot of bass.

Quite a bit but not enough to go through the hassle of replacing my entire sound system.
