Yes, when my father-in-law died, all his 4 children (my husband and his 3 sisters), one granddaughter who is a nurse and I were there after they brought him home to die. That was about 4 years ago. Even though it was one of the most heart-wrenching, sad experiences of my life, I felt privileged to be there and with the family to help all of us get through this difficult time.

I wish I could say no but I was in the room with my sweetheart holding her hand after her parents made the decision to remove her from life support. I remember telling her how much I loved her and how it was ok for her to let go now and that I would never stop loving her as long as I lived. I remember reaching over and taking her into my arms to give her a big hug and kiss and that's when she left this world.

-
Yes, twice, with both my parents. My father died first in 1999 and his death was a massive blow. My Mum died in 2007 and again I was with her, holding her hand, when she died. She had been suffering from cancer for some time, and had degenerated rapidly. Her death offered her relief from the pain she was suffering, and I believe that she was ready for it. This belief made her passing much easier to bear.
