I would say that "Brian's Song" (James Caan and Billy Dee Williams- 1973) is one of the saddest movies I have seen. I saw more men coming out of the theatre I think than I can remember for any movie. It is a good touching and true movie, based on the book by Gayle Sayers, the football legend, and his friendship with Brian Piccolo.

October Sky (when the guy dies... gosh everytime. call me wierd, but I'm serious) She's All That (I cried because it was so sweet, but a little sad cause of the poor girl-i could really relate to her-, and finally because I was so happy that god created that little slice of Heaven Freddie Prinze Jr. for all us girls to drool over) Stranger than Fiction (who knew Will Ferrell was capable??)Pleasentville, The Notebook (duh), I haven't seen this next one but I heard its supposed to be sweet. not sure though; Driving Lessons, The Outsiders, The Village, Anastasia, I am Sam, Lion King... um yeah. The main ones are: The Joyluck Club - pretty much from the drowned baby onwards. A Little Princess - I saw it as a kid and cried for most of the film. Stepford Wives - the original made me absolutely bawl. It was so unfair. You kept expecting her to escape and... she didn't. And I admit I started crying during the terrible remake as well. Big Fish - the funeral. And the movie with Judi Dench and Kate Winslet about Iris Murdoch's battle with alzeimers.
