The Dark Tower

Depends which ones you haven't read yet? I like It, Pet Semetary and Misery. Those are great stories, some of his best in my opinion.
-
Misery.
-
I liked The Stand and Cell. It I wouldn't put down. I haven't been reading him much lately though...I read him a lot when I was younger. I like his writing and style but he tends to get very "fantastic" in the end. I actually started reading Dean Koontz more regularly now; his writing style is similar and although very supernatural still, he tends to be a little more scientific which I like. I really liked Door to December and I think it was called Lightning.
-
The Stand is still his best work in my opinion.
-
"Dreamcatcher" It blew my mind
-
All of them.
-
Misery was my favorite.
-
I liked Carrie, Christine, The Shining, and Salem's Lot are all very good.
-
It's not a novel, but I would recommend his book of short stories called Everything's Eventual. It really shows how talented a writer he truly is. There are the expected horror stories, but also a few stories that, although they are dark, you wouldn't expect from him.
-
The Stand (as many have suggested) and The Talisman & Black house.
-
Misery to start. I think it's his best book.
-
My favorites are The Stand and Insomnia. I just finished reading From A Buick 8. That was really good too.
-
Four Past Midnight...
-
I recommend Dreamcatcher. I loved it! :)
-
Carrie is the easiest to read if you want a relatively short book.
-
Cell
-
The Stand or It.
-
The Long Walk, it's the last King book I read, right now I'm reading Insomnia, maybe in a few weeks I will recommend it as so many others have
-
"Dreamcatcher" is a great book, I just got done reading it. Now I am reading "Blaze" also by Stephen King
-
Four Past Midnight. I loved "The Langoliers". What a creepy thought!
-
I know Stephen King wrote this one with Peter Straub, so you may not count it, but I liked The Talisman the best.
-
I like The Talisman too... but The Stand is my all-time favorite of his.
-
All 7500 pages of the Dark Tower series. The Gunslinger is the best of the bunch, if you only want to read one of the books.
-
LOVE the short story books. Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Four Past Midnight, Night Shift and the newest one, Everything's Eventual. Good for lighter reading, for shorter periods. Not one story was very disappointing. Some not scary at all, but rather philosophical, some amazing character studies, and some are downright terrifying. Check them out.
-
Dreamcatcher-- VERYY well written, it was fantastic I found myself laughing at serious life-threatening moments of the characters while at the same time being scared that they would die in the next paragraph of the book.
-
Needful Things.
-
Cujo
-
anything of his from the 70's plus he has a new shorty story collection coming out entitled Just Before Dawn soon, maybe worth a read
-
The Stand or The Shining, IMO his best.
-
I'm reading Bag Of Bones right now. So far it is very good. Give it a try too.
-
Night Shift was good years ago. I don't know if it would still be. The one with Apt Pupil and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption is a good one. Thinner is one of my favorites.
-
I'm currently listening to Duma Key on CD in my car. Really well written, and the actor who reads it is pretty good. The best I've had "read" to me was Bag of Bones - read by the author. Nothing beats being read by the author. So either Duma Key or Bag of Bones. (Ennie Mennie Chillie Beanie...)
-
Yes, and Four Past Midnight, Skeleton Crew and Nightmares and Dreamscapes.
-
I have not read them all. The Dark Half is great, it's probably the most original ghost story I have read. It, well it's rather good as well. The Tommyknockers seems to be mostly lifted from British sci-fi TV show Quatermass and the Pit from 1959 but it's a good one just the same. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quatermass_and_the_Pit From a Buick 6 (or was it 8) is good but he's a bit inconsistent with the goings on. The Stand - many recommend it, the first three quarters is fine but I hated the end. The deus ex machina was pathetic and I think he had just got tired of it and bunged in a hand of god ending to get it over with.
